According to Variety, Jessica Alba has joined Mike Myers in the Paramount Pictures comedy The Love Guru, along with Verne Troyer (aka Mini-Me from Myer's Austin Powers films) and Romany Malco, best known from his role in The 40-Year-Old Virgin. With plans for a June 20 release, the Myers co-produced and co-written comedy stars the comic in his first live-action role in many years playing a new character named Pitka, an American boy who was left as a child at the gates of an ashram in India, and after being raised by gurus, he moves back to the U.S. so seeks riches as a couples therapist.

Malco plays a hockey player whose wife is sleeping with a member of the rival team, while Alba, Myer's love interest, is the owner of the hockey team, while Troyer plays the team coach. They're all brought together when Pitka is hired to reunite Malco with his wife so taht he can lead the team to the championship.

The movie is being directed by Marco Schnabel for a planned June 20 release.

She's popping up all over the place now that FF is done with I assume.

she's already made a little more than a half a dozen films this past year..and i guess she's isn't stopping

let's hope they are spread apart, not to have another jude law incident like in late 2004. even though i did enjoy most of those movies

This movie sounds good. Hope it's a hit like Austin Powers.

Ugh, sounds more like Goldmember than Wayne's World, I'll pass. :o

Romany Malco is pretty damn funny...I may check this out.

I'm just glad that Mike Myers has created a new character. The past 10 yrs has pretty much been Austin Powers and Shrek.

Jessica Alba as a love interest for Mike Meyers?

Mike Myers in a live action comeback? A black hockey player? Jessica Alba as the owner of a hockey team? I'll be there.

So much for getting serious and dramatic roles like Natalie Portman.

In comedies, goofy guys always must have the hottest female as a love interest. That's part of the comedy. Look at Adam Sandler and pretty much all his movies where his romantic lead is pretty much a 10 always.

Even in Shrek that rule is followed. :o
