He is great and very talanted actor. He is not awesome only in comedy movies, but also in dramas.

My favorite movie is Eternal Sunshine of Spottless Mind.

I also love The Truman Show, Dumb and Dumber, The Mask, Lemony Snicket, Liar Liar and Ace Ventura.

And what is your favorite movies?

He was pretty damn good in "Simon Birch" even though his role was small.

Truman Show is one of the best films of the nineties.
Liar Liar is just plain hilarious. "Whatever takes the focus of your head!"

so, it the question "which is Jim Carrey's best movie?" or "which movie was Jim Carrey best in?"

well, either way i'm going with Eternal Sunshine.

just a beautiful movie in nearly every way. even if i more often than not couldn't stand Carrey's love interest (i forget her name, but she was an alcoholic bee-yotch)

Clementine as I can remember.

I like The Cable Guy, Both Ace Ventura's, and Liar Liar.

Hands down....The Truman Show. followed by The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. I remember when Ace Ventura came out in 1994, it only made around 70 million or so,but once it came out on VHS it became really popular,If it came out today it'd make 100+ million at the theater, since comedies are so hot right now.

With Jim Carrey, you have to judge TWO things...

Best film and Funniest film.

And COME ON, Neither of those is Liar Liar!

Can one really compare comedy with drama?

They are two sides of the same coin, as both Shakespeare and Alan Moore will tell you. ;)

Dumb and Dumber

Me, Myself, and Irene

Dumb and dumber for me
It shows you how much you are willing to do for a woman

Liar Liar, Truman Show, Me Myself & Irene are my favorite that are up there. I haven't seen The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind yet. But one of my faves of his which is not up there is Man on the Moon

I guess my favorite is Liar Liar.

I hear you. I just think that many people don't understand just how hard good comedy is to pull off and they dismiss it when compared to dramatic work. How many Best Pictures or Best Actors are comedies compared to Dramas? This is the reason why I think that Billy Wilder is one of the best Directors of all time.

mine is the truman show

just excellent

but you missed out man on the moon

I look at it like this....

Could anyone else have had the unbridled lunacy of Jim Carrey in the first Ace Ventura movie that made that film work? On the other side of the equation, can't we name countless actors who would have been just as good as him in Eternal Sunshine (perhaps his best film)?

What a dumb list, batman made it on but not man on the moon!! wtf!

Anyway

Dramatical = Man on the money
Comedy = Dumb and dumber :D:D

Ha! :) I have everyone of Carreys films (and none films) on dvd, and dumb and dumber never gets old. and i love Andy Kaufman :p

I think Carrey should have more dramas, because he is very good in acting of serious character.

At nowadays, comedy movies with him are not so successful (Fun with Dick and Jane was meh, but Lemony Snicket was good).

I think Jim knows this and now he is going to make more serious movies.

For example THe Number 23, which sould like very serious and good story. It is psychological thriller.

Maybe someday Carrey will even win his Oscar Award

But what I know is that he has very big collection of MTV Movie Awards :D
