Why would it really be that much a jistake. It's been long enough new fans wouldn't likely remember he was in past film. And change his character up slightly in the acting side he could play it differently. If he doesn't come back sure I be ah man but if next guy does just as good good for him.

JK Simmons IS J. Jonah. Jameson, don't try to replace him.

I don't want him back. Yes, he was fantastic in the role, but that doesn't mean you need to bring him back. Let someone else give it a shot.

It would be reductive honestly. It's distinctly a new universe. It's the MCU.

    It's not Raimi's Spidey-Universe. It's not Webb's Spidey-Universe.

    It's MCU's Spidey-Universe.

I used to be so adamant he not come back (even though I loved him), but after watching his more dramatic performances of late I don't think I'd mind he return if he gives a slightly different take to distinguish his previous appearances.

Something more lifelike rather than a comedic caricature. He clearly has the chops, and he has enough natural charisma that the ol' JJ flavor would be in tact. I'm sure the 007/M argument gets brought up often, but more importantly I don't think the audiences care enough about the reboot factor as he's an ancillary character and because he was so damn good.

Simmons is tied more to the character than he is to Raimi's universe, if that makes sense.

I understand that, but it's not like JJJ is one of the main characters, if such a thing is to happen, I know I wouldn't mind it. But this won't happen anyway in my opinion.

Out of all the names mentioned, I like Cranston. Simmons is without a doubt one of the most talented and engaging actors in the world, but I'd still prefer a clean slate across the board.

It wasn't reductive bringing Judi Dench back as M in the Daniel Craig reboot for James Bond.

No reason why it should be here either for Jameson.

again if jk did return he wouldnt be playing the role like he did for raimi. He would likely be playing it differently let alone change of look a bit. Again i wouldnt have a problem if he returned. Its been a long time since he played the role last in film. and for new folks they likely wouldnt care one bit at all.

i doubt they look at any one under 50ish. JJJ and robbie def need to be in there 50s for there time in the industry and would look weird if they are way younger.

Meh, I only mentioned him cause he voiced Jameson in SSM. Plus, that's why there's make-up and hair dye. To make people look older and or younger than they actually are.

I could get behind him, lol. Though it'd be weird seeing Cosmo as JJJ, but as one pointed out, he voiced JJJ in SSM so it's cool.

Plus, he also voiced Venom in the 2000 Spider-Man game!

He was pretty much a caricature in all three films.

Imagine Cosmo's voice coming out of Jameson's body, that is pure gold right there.

I brought that point up. Bond reused m for Craig reboot. And I said before. Even if jk returned. He likely look a little different and play the character differently. So I still wouldn't be against jk back. But if he isn't I hope they get someone good.
