I was reading Wikipedia and saw that it's been confirmed - Cartoon Network has not renewed JLU. They site a source here. Looking at the other thread, Legion of Superheroes isn't Timmverse, but at least James Tucker (one of Timm's right-hand men) is involved with it, so maybe it'll be okay. The other good news is that there is at least one DTV JLU movie on the way and probably a few others. As the other site notes, it's grasping at straws - but maybe huge DVD sales will launch either more movies or another season.

Long live the DCAU and the Timmverse! I for one can't wait for the final installment of STAS on DVD, another Batman Beyond DVD set, and JL / JLU coming to DVD.

Who knows, maybe we'll cross paths with Bruce Timm again on another rocking cartoon (Hellboy?). :supes:

yeah this has been known for a while.

But from what I know heres the up to date facts on where DCAU stands:

1. The new superman movie, judging by speculation, is going to be horrible. the voice acting is terrible except for the revival of Tim Daily.

2. Justice League is no more. there may be 1 DTV left, but thats not very much. Hopefully it will be long and good, but who knows.

3. Batman as we know it in the DCAU is no more. With "The Batman" ruining all of that basically.

4. DVD sales are ridiculasly high. I am very surprised they made this decision.

5. Remember Family Guy? The dvd sales were so high that they brought back the show. Do not lose hope in JL.

Good or bad, thats how I see it right now. If the Superman Returns movie is a sucess, then we might see a new superman show who knows. But if it sucks, expect things to get even worse for the DCAU.

There is already going to be a new Superman animated series. It looks to coincide with The Batman ...which sucks. I'd really rather the DCAU go out with dignity, which it seems to be doing, than with several direct to video duds, such as Mystery of the Batwoman.

DTVs can be pretty damn good, like Return of the Joker. As long as the movies are good, then I think the DCAU should live on in DTVs.

Say goodbye to the old DCAU we all knew and loved. :(

Say hello to the new DCAU with TT, TB, and the new Superman series. :( :down

I really hope that Superman: Brainiac Attacks isn't as bad as Batwoman.

You've seen the trailer right Fate? It looks to have good actionin some scenes but nothing better than that. I hope it does ok but they made a huge mistake not getting ALL the original voices.

It finishes on the tenth in Australia, when I went to record the final episode with Foxtel I got this feeling that it was gone forever & I got all depressed & heard Fix You by Coldplay in my head for some reason. I am so sad in both forms of the word.

Next week it all comes to an end.

What? Legion of Superheroes? Is that a future show? What is it about?

Anyway, I'm excited for the finale. No I'm not happy that it'll be the end but I know that this show will end with a bang!

Alive is on now.
Supposedly the best episode of the season.

:)

I think The Batwoman was a low-tier chapter in the DCAU.
I am not saying it was that bad, but it wasn't that good either.

Alive was great! It was like Civil War except with DC supervillains instead of Marvel superheroes.

I rather enjoyed it. Still gotta see Phantasm, though.

Anyways, hopefully Legion is better than th' other crap they got on.

Phantasm blew The Batwoman out of the roof.
The only thing I hate about Phantasm is the art.

TNBA Art>>>BTAS Art.

Some character designs sucked, but TNBA art was still overall better.
It had a more modern vibe to it, instead of a classic vibe.

Meh. It worked fine fer Supes. Hated it on Bats. Especially that goddam orange sky.

lol.
The sky was a little out there.
I have to agree on that.

I enjoyed all of the DCAU DTVs. The batwoman one was an interesting take using the the updated episode artwork. I thought Batman was slightly out of character in that movie, but it was nice seeing some different aspects.

I just really enjoy all of the Timmverse. Whether it be the classic-feeling BTAS or JLU, I think each series has it's own character and they're all really enjoyable.

I too believe The Batman doesn't stand up in quality compared to the Timmverse, but looking at the larger picture -- I'm glad that there is still a market for Batman and Superman. After all, wouldn't it be much worse if there was absolutely *nothing*? There are tons of horrible cartoons these days, and the batman - still shines out amongst the rest of the crowd (even though JLU is at the top).

At the end of the day, I just want to see new and interesting stories told about Batman, Superman and the rest of our favorite characters. We can only sit back and hope that new and interesting stories will be told, even if some of our favorite story tellers and artists move on.

I am not really thinking about all of the designs I disliked...but one thing was Batman...why the heck were his cowl's ears like that. I did not care if they were that long..but they like curve this way: )\/ ( If you know what I am trying to say.

No clue. I was just pissed over anorexic albino Catwoman.

I absolutely hated the Riddler.
Bane looked alot better though.

You mean in TNBAS? I did not like their Riddler revamp either.
