Imo he is the best choice by far, looks-wise and obviously acting-wise. All this talk of DiCaprio, Owen, Shrieber, Washington etc makes me weary.

I think he is the one to do this job without a doubt. Him opposite Bale, Ledger, Oldman would just be phenomenal

i agree. phoenix has the gravity that the other players have, can you imagine how amazing it'd be to see him with oldman and bale on a rooftop somewhere? he's my number 1 choice and has been for awhile.

i used to want schreiber but while leiv looks the most like dent, his range as an actor is extremely limited.

and i can't spell his name, so that matters.

The only thing is joaquin admitted he is getting tired of acting. I'm not sure how motivated he'd be to do a 2 picture deal. I mean, it's not like he has to do a Bale and get buff, but a 2 pic deal might be gruelling.

But yes, Joaquin's performance in "Walk the Line" is the reason I'd be thrilled to have him for Dent. He's more than proven he could do it.

It's just too good not to pursue, because he has a great look for Dent, imo, but more importantly he is probably the most interesting young actor in Hollywood. He was amazing in bad films(Signs, The Yards) and then there was Walk the line.

I'd make him an offer he can't refuse.
