Jodie Foster to Star in Thriller 'Hotel Artemis'
'Iron Man 3' screenwriter Drew Pearce will make his directorial debut with the film.

Jodie Foster has signed on to star in Drew Pearce's directorial debut, Hotel Artemis.

Hotel Artemis is based on an original script by Pearce, who wrote Iron Man 3 and Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation. Foster will play a character called "The Nurse" in the near-future thriller that is set in its own distinctive crime universe.

Simon and Stephen Cornwell are producing for The Ink Factory, which will also finance. Adam Siegel and Marc Platt producing for Marc Platt Productions. The Ink Factory’s Becky Sloviter is overseeing, and Pearce will executive produce through his Point of No Return production banner.

Dave Bautista joins Sci-Fi Thriller Hotel Artemis
The Ink Factory and Lionsgate have announced today that Dave Bautista (Spectre, Guardians of the Galaxy) is set to joinAcademy Award winner Jodie Foster (Silence of the Lambs, The Accused) in the upcoming film Hotel Artemis. The feature marks the directorial debut of*Drew Pearce’s (Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, Iron Man 3).

Academy Award nominee Marc Platt (La La Land, Drive, Wanted) will produce alongside Adam Siegel (Drive, 2 Guns), and The Ink Factory’s Simon Cornwell and Stephen Cornwell (“The Night Manager”, A Most Wanted Man).
Penned by Pearce and set in the near future, Hotel Artemis follows a nurse (Foster) who runs an underground hospital for Los Angeles’ most sinister criminals, and finds that one of her patients is actually there to assassinate another.
“Mr. Bautista is a force to be reckoned with — a powerful presence who’s equal parts strength and soulfulness,” Pearce said. “I’m a true fan, and it’s a privilege to have him in the world of Hotel Artemis.”
Bautista can next be seen this May in Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, the sequel to 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy, and most recently starred alongside Brittany Snow in Bushwick, which premiered at Sundance. In addition, he can be seen in the upcoming films Blade Runner 2049, opposite Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling and in Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War

I figure Bautista is going to be the agressor, makes me wonder who his target will be? Someone as hard ass as he, or a left field choice you don't normally associate with fighting hitmen.

Okay, this has to be the most eclectic cast we've seen in a movie for quite some time. I'm watching the hell out of this. I hope it has a good dose of dark humor, and isn't 100% grim serious.

Yup, I hope so, too.

*cut to me praying that Jeff Goldblum is one of the prisoners instead of one of the doctors*

Concept sounds cool. I'm a sucker for murder mysteries/thrillers, so count me in.

Damn, what a cast. Looks fun too.

It's got Shane Black vibes.

Feels like a John Wick type of world-building.

My thoughts exactly.

I think Pearce was inspired by John Wick's "hotel" underworld where hitmen are not allowed to kill anyone in a "kill free" hotel.

Also, I'm glad Dave Bautista is getting more work and that kickass action lady Sofia Boutella is in this.

Sofia Boutella is the only reason I might see this.

First time I saw the trailer before IW I thought this had something to do with John Wick.

Looks ok. The trailer basically gave away everything with so much exposition. I also thought of the hotel from John Wick.
