Billy Ray to Rewrite Motorcade
Source: The Hollywood Reporter
June 12, 2008

DreamWorks Pictures has hired writer/director Billy Ray to rewrite Motorcade, an action-thriller about terrorists assaulting the president's procession as it snakes through Los Angeles.

Hans Bauer and Craig Mitchell sold their original pitch to DreamWorks in November 2004, with Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald producing.

Ray has embraced a shrewd mix of rewrites on such big-budget fare as Volcano, Flightplan and State of Play and more personal writing-directing assignments such as Shattered Glass, Breach and the forthcoming Hurricane Season at Universal.

Really cool premise that could make for a great action/thriller is they get it right.

I wonder where the terrorists will be from. The Russians had a fit over the new Indy movie. :hehe:

Len Wiseman in Talks for Motorcade
Source: Variety
November 14, 2008

Len Wiseman is negotiating to direct Motorcade, a DreamWorks thriller that Billy Ray has scripted about terrorists attacking the president's motorcade as it traverses through Los Angeles.

Variety says the film was originally scripted by Hans Bauer and Craig Mitchell, and Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald are the producers.

Wiseman directed the first two "Underworld" filmed and most recently helmed Live Free or Die Hard.

Sounds like an interesting film. Wonder what the perspective will be from? Secret Service, President...maybe something like Vantage Point perhaps...I like Wiseman so I will definitely pay close attention to this.

How many movies Wiseman is involved in??

I hope he finished gears of war first.

Ryan Reynolds Eyed for Motorcade

Source:Variety
October 7, 2009

DreamWorks is moving forward with Motorcade, hiring director Jon Cassar, best known as co-executive producer and a prolific helmer of the Fox TV drama "24."

The studio hopes to get the picture into production by late summer or early fall 2010, and DreamWorks is eying Ryan Reynolds to play the disgraced Secret Service agent who happens to be in the wrong place at the right time when the U.S. president is kidnapped in New York.

Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald are producing. Billy Ray continues to work on a script that was originated by Hans Bauer and Craig Mitchell.

All change then but I can dig Reynolds in the lead.

Seeing this for sure...

... DEADPOOL Dammit! :csad: :oldrazz:

Oh, I like this one very much. I can enjoy different kinds of cars here.

Sounds like it could be cool. Dunno if its just me, but it sounds a bit like it could be a Die Hard sequel..

I'm sorry...a disgraced secret service agent who happens to be in the wrong place at the right time?

Are they even trying anymore?

Sort of feels like every other movie made during the 80's.

Ive been thinking about this movie a long time. I read about it a long time ago. I think they shouldve rewritten it into a Die Hard sequel.

But anyway, Carnahan is great. He should get Pine to play a secret service agent. Carnahan and Pine do great work together. I liked how he directed Patrick Wilson in Stretch too

Glad to see this film resurrected, I love the premise. Tom Cruise was circling it at one point, I wonder if he may be interested again now Carnahan is involved, because he produced Narc and Carnahan was going to direct Mi:III before JJ Abrams ended up with the gig.
