Comics Joe Q is an idiot

That whole "tantric energy" thing from that comic was gross. I'd hate to have to explain that to my kids. By Joe's logic, kids wouldn't get marriage, but they'd get this? That's a sad statement of our society.

The whole Ned Leeds intertwining Hobby story was done really well over a span of time. Everyone was wondering that identity for a long time...and it was done without an ARC....it was here and there, sometimes a side note to the story, etc.....That was back when there was ACTUALLY A SUPPORTING CAST where they had CHOICES of who could be a bad guy, to choose from....LOL....

That's a really good point. I miss that feeling in comics.

Like when we wondered who the mysterious figure asking for Aunt May was (Ben Reilly), or who Norman Osborn's lackey Green Goblin was following the Clone Saga, or even things like Flash dealing with alcoholism. I liked following side plots that carried out over the course of a writer's entire run.

Nowadays all we get is stuff like:

THE OTHER

Spidey is sick! It'll change his life forever! He might lose a limb!

The entire plot of "The Other" could've taken place over a couple months and only served as a minor plot point that we come back to here and there. Not enough for it's own EVENT.

I also think part of the problem is the fact that we chat with other fans on message boards. It kills a lot of the surprise.

It looks like JQ is going to get his way like usual,...he is like a spoiled little toddler. The marriage will be down the tubes..(AGAIN!) but with a different take on how he does it......Spidey will be SINGLE like Charlie Brown and MJ will literally be CLUELESS. Everyone thank Joe! He is like a magician who will try every angle to rid us of MJ until he is successful.

Young kids will be swarming to Amazing Spider-man like flys now.

Heh you know the one thing I've never understood about JQ's "Kill the Marriage" campaign is that he continues to say that it alienates the young fan...10-14 and sometimes younger.

What kid fans is he talking about? Kids hardly read comic books anymore. Hell, kids hardly read as it is lol. I just don't understand what comic store Joey Q visits were he sees these "imaganery" young fans....

He's going to kill the marrige by retconning the person who married them into a skrull. That way since he wasn't a liscensed minister they were never technically married. Marrige problem(that was never a problem) solved.

So true. Having worked with tons of youth, i do not hear them talking about comic books much at all. Most of the fans who read Spidey, in and out, regardless of what shocking new arc whatever is aimed for, and that actually STICK WITH SPIDEY ....are us long term fans who have always collected it and read it. (not just bought and bagged either)

Making Spidey suddenly SINGLE isn't going to send waves of cheers thru young fans across the nation like some big ewok celebration. Nor is it going to bring in droves of NEW LITTLE KIDDIES....I feel like Joe is treating Spidey like Captain Crunch or something...is he gonna advertise...?....TRY THE NEW AND IMPROVED SINGLE SPIDEY...NOW MORE TASTEY TO LIL ONES...??!!!!

Mindwiping a marriage so people can't REMEMBER IT would be opening a giant can of worms.

The number of TRUE SUPPORTIVE FANS Marvel will lose will FAR OUTNUMBER any little kids who decide they want to read "NEW SINGLE SPIDEY" & (KEY PART) stick with "new single spidey" with no progression.

You'll have married people dating others possibly. You'll have MJ dating her husband possibly. Or time travel to a moment when they're not married yet. Or MJ is a Skrull. Or Joe Scmoe is a Skrull. Or whatever cheesy thing JQ tries (again/next) to break them up while he is in the batter's box.

Joey Q sees comics aren't read nearly as much as they were in the '60s, '70s or even the '80s.

He thinks "Kids relate to single teen Spidey back then....marriage must end."

He's trying to save it for "future generations." But he's dooming it. He's losing what fans he has now. Spidey ain't coming back to be the main interest of kids to read when they have video games, movies, the internet, etc.

The comics just don't pull for them and divorcing them in whatever way just alienates fans.

No new ones will be created.

The first thing that comes to mind when i think "Ultimate" is BAGLEY....t:

The second thing i think of is....STORY ARCS....

MJ and Pete's interactions ARE well done there.

So....I'm not sure why JQ wants to keep trying to "seperate" them in some way in his "scheme of the year".

Taking a married couple and mindwiping or timesweeping them so that they don't know they're married.....is just so......I dunno.....it's just moving backwards and seems so...dumb...i don't know how to explain it...

I am hoping OMD won't be another JQ attempt to break them apart..tho it STILL looks like it is heading that direction, unless ALL HIS QUOTES and the ART WORK OUT HE"S COMMISIONED is all to just THROW US OFF and a bad joke gone wrong.
