So yeah, despite how "TV Guidish" Wizard is, I still have an existing subscription from two years ago... But the "BEST OF 2006" issue just got in my hands two nights ago, and MUTHA-F**KIN' JOEY Q is named "MAN of the YEAR"?!?!?!?!

Holy S*** the writers at Wizard are some dumb F***s!!!!

"Event of the Year" - Civil War

"Book of the Year" - DAREDEVIL?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

"Single Issue of the Year" - New Avengers #22, WHAAAAAAA??!?!?!?!

"Movie of the Year" - The Descent??????

The rest of the Sappy-Ass winners are hear if you're interested:

DD is the book of the year. :o

A case can be made for Daredevil, but some of the other winners... meh.

They didn't give one single mention to ANYTHING Crisis-related??!?!

I mean, that Series had a lot more going for it than Civil War!? F***, that makes me mad! :cmad: But then I calm back down because it's Wizard, and they've got more MARVEL employees on the payroll than journalists.

Actually, Crisis didn't seem to be nearly as big as Civil War has with fans.

Well, I've heard a HELLOFA lot more complaints about CW than IC!

And I mean about a 90:10 or 80:20 ratio!!

Granted, but it DID stir readers, and has a few more readers than IC did. IC had mentions all over the place, but not NEARLY the mentions Civil War is getting. Even old issues are still being fought over. Where with IC, next issue was here, the old issue just died off in obscurity.

If "Man of the Year" means, "JQ pissed off the most people and stirred up the most controversy in the comics community" then I guess he would be entitled to the honor...

And I'll give MARVEL credit, they DID manage to get an entire article (including a bi-line on the front page) over Spidey's unmasking in CW.

You can't get more national coverage than that.

Right. Sorry I'm not a 'TOOL' of the mainstream corporate comicbook companies...

...Vertigo is owned by a mainstream corporate comic book company.

BRAVO! Excellent. Wizard gets it right again!

Well, it's more than that. There's far more hero/hero interaction. It wasn't just one flurry to the next, with several smaller stories. That actually spanned it out over several dozen books to try and tell this entire thing out with a pacing that allowed all the stories to be told in some form of entirety. Infinite Crisis just had lead ins, and then the core book, and it was all a flash basically.

Even if those are suspect, some of them are dead on target:

WRITER OF THE YEAR: Brian K. Vaughan (Y: The Last Man, Runaways, Ex Machina, Dr. Strange: The Oath, Pride of Baghdad)

COVER ARTIST OF THE YEAR: J.G. Jones (52)

ANIMATED SERIES OF THE YEAR: “Justice League Unlimited”

Well you notice I didn't rip those 'awards'... Plus, the won they awarded to "Kingdom Come"...any award that can go to that collection SHOULD in my opinion!

Magazine with the worst opinion of the year-Wizards magazine.

And seriously, its a ****ign magazine giving out awards, im not going to kill myself over it.

It's just a bunch of lazy idiots who usually don't know all there is to know about the comics anyway.

I mean, seriously, Ultimate Iron Man FIXED his energy problem, and they STILL used that as a deciding factor in one of their lame ass fights.

People should just let it go. If it bothers you that much, you should consider a psychiatric consultant.

wasn't the crisis last year in wizard terms?

(regardless even despite the confusing ending Seven Soldiers is far better than CW or IC)
