The Next Movie I’m Writing The deal’s not done, but my earlier allusions to D.C. mythology (and alternate Earths) were project-specific. I hope to be able to say what it is soon. And yes, it’s cruel of me to leave it floating out there.
John August is the writer of Go, Big Fish, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Corpse Bride. He wrote on his blog once he is a DC comics fan.
May he be the new writer on Flash?
The Alternate Earths thing may point to some Crisis in a movie. An animated Crisis?

i'm hoping not for the Flash even though he's a good writer his credits seem more towards the Tim Burton territory... which DC hero besides Batman is a more along the lines of Burtonesque type stuff... Green Lantern maybe?

Maybe they're "burtoning" the Flash... so that way it can go the sethu Superman Lives route. Black leather flash with a silver lightning bolt... nice...

The reason why they got rid of Goyer besides him moving at a snails pace was that Goyer's script was too dark. I doubt they would "Burtonize" the Flash. Not only that, they have stated that they want this to be a lighter film than Batman Begins and Superman Returns, and with John August, I doubt that they would be able to do such a thing.

Personally, I think this might either be Green Lantern or Aquaman. For starters we can pretty much rule out Wonder Woman because I think it can be safely assumed that they got the guys who wrote the WWII script on board. Second, Green Lantern and Aquaman are the only members of the main six that haven't got film projects off the ground yet and Warner Bros. wants a Justice League of America movie.

The Doom Patrol movie doesn't have a writer attached to it yet, right?

I used to dislike John August when he was working on those Charlie's Angels movies, but in the past 3-4 years he has redeemed himself. So, I'm looking forward to this

Please Green Lantern, Please Green Lantern!

I really enjoied Charlie & the Chocolate Factory so mingers, toes, eyes, legs, arms all crossed

Well I wouldn't be too sure of that, I mean they did hire Shawn Levy as director. WB is probably trying to take less of a dark approach to the Flash, for financial and marketing reasons and most importantly because he's not a dark character. But even with a lighter tone I hope they don't overboard and make it a complete kiddie campfest like Batman and Robin. All we know so far is that its "not going to be a comedy," but lighter than Batman Begins or Superman Returns.
So if this August guy has written all those Burton scripts, it would probably make more sense for this to be GL or WW. Err I guess they already got that WW script from the other guys....the good thing is that he said he's a DC fan, and there ought to be more DC properties in the movies like Marvel.

Damn, why is there no Green Lantern love. I really don't like Shazam! at all, he just doesn't apeal to me at all
