Johnny playing Darts - LONGER version of the BTS clip

I have a question. Who is calling action ? Does not sound like Tim's voice. Does the director just set a scene up, then sits behind a monitor and watches how it plays out ? And is the director the ultimate authority on the set, or can someone higher up overule him ?

When they show the monitors in the clip, you can see that in the frame that will be what ends up on the screen, the top of the heads are cut off. Both when the Thing smashes through the wall, and in the close-up of Reed with Ben and the kids in the background.

No clue. Mabey it has an audo adjust. As long as they get the main, the system takes care of the boarderling stuff. Technology is pretty smart these days.

It might me the Assisant director or 2nd in command yelling that.

No, the director is not always the one yelling "cut" or "action"......the couple of times I've done extra work the director sometimes was there and sometimes wasn't.....depended on the complexity of the scene....etc....

The $$$$$$$$ ALWAYS overules the director......SO whoever is in charge of the $$$$$$$$ overules the director.....:word:

I have to say that when I finally saw that footage, I was genuinely shocked beyond words as to why it was removed. It added so much depth to the film, and different perspectives on things. It really did seem like they cut out anything that could have vastly improved the movie. I am hoping and praying that is not the case this time.

Do you know where i can watch that footage?
Thanks
EDIT:Also the clip of Johnny playing darts with Ben isnt working. any idea why?

I really hope they come out with a "directors cut" of FF1. After reading the interview with the guy who scored it, saying the score was totally butchered when they edited it.... I really want to see the "un-butchered" version. With all kinds of extras, like "making-of" stuff.

The "Darts" clip looks awesome. But sadly, it has "DVD Deleted Scenes" written all over it. Why? Because it adds to character development--and looking at the last few hero films from FOX they don't appear to be big on characterization. Just explosions and sex appeal.

I hope I'm wrong though. Thanks to editing, I'm still annoyed that the mainstream can't even tell from the FF1 theatrical release that Alicia Masters is an accomplished potter. They cut everything remotely hinting at that, so now people think she's just the "blind bar chick" that Ben picked up one night. And with this Surfer treatment with Susan, and the fact that Kerry is supposed to have very little screentime in FF2, I'm beginning to think the Alicia character is becoming the most wasted of the franchise.

But anyway...nice clip with Johnny. Yeah. ;)

Yeah.....maybe we will actually see a Fantastic Four movie.......:o

True, but if anyone got the best moments of characterization in the first film, at least second to Ben, it was Johnny. He's the great equalizer in terms of hitting all the key demographics. He's a pretty white dude, so you've guy teenager to twenty-something girls who will drool over him. Then you've got the fact that his character can burst into flames and fly. Ghost Rider is proof positive that a skull on fire is all you need to wrangle in teenage boys. Johnny is ahead of the curve by comparison.

All things considered, it's nice to see that these little bits of character development have been scripted at all, let alone filmed. Singer got blamed for it with the first X-Men, Mark Steven Johnson with Daredevil, and now Story. They all got flack for not having enough scenes that gave us more insight into the characters, when all those cuts were purely studio-driven. Hopefully we'll get those deleted scenes in some capacity from the first FF. The first film needs a more extensive DVD period, added footage AND bonus features. And a cast commentary would be great!

I think the dart's scene is a great way to show more of the relationship between Ben and Johnny besides Ben being the brunt of Johnny's jokes in the first. Hopefully we can take that clip as a signe they are listening and are aiming to fix some of the flaws they made when editting the last film.

why does the link say page cannot be displayed? is this just happening to me?
