Awesome!! I really enjoyed what changes could be made without disrupting the story. For the first time I wasn't sick of all the over the top action with no meaning! But this movie did enough to not mess that mix.

I'm not quite sure what you mean here.

Neither Man of Steel or Batman V Superman were 'over the top action with no meaning' - they may or may not be good movies, but they are full of thematic content, a lot of which is Christian allegory. Batman v Superman especially is probably overloaded with 'meaning'. Justice League is a lot simpler and shallower, there really is not much more to it than assembling the team.

Also, it's not really Joss Whedon's tone as he was not involved until the movie was about 80% complete.

The big complaint was that the fight scenes and visuals were amazing but had no substance. You can tell there was more substance being the scenes and not just pretty images.

Music, dialogue, editing, and pacing are absolutely essential in terms of establishing tone.

Therefore, Whedon's "tone" all over the film and drowns out Snyder's for the most part.

Did you feel that was a good thing?

I'd rather have Snyder visuals than the bland look this movie had most of the time. I felt like it had neither a marvel look or a Snyder look.

For me it felt like the movie lacked contrast in terms of the black levels. This was something i also noticed on Whedon's Avengers.

Maybe they need to just get a one true leader of the DCEU just like Kevin Fiege is for Marvel. That way there is an overall tone in each movie. But I did enjoy the fight scenes and the better acting. I even enjoyed Lex not being too crazy and manic.

I sense that Whedon spent so much time on script edits and reshoots, he didn't have the time to clean up the CGI. JL should've been delayed a couple more months to see what he might've done properly, but they'd already gone overbudget so...

Oh i meant the whole movie itself not the CG. Zack loves to use a lot of contrast and deep black levels (the cut Victor football scene). This looks like they either brightened up the image in post or just didn't do colour correction as Zack would normal have it.

His name is Geoff Johns.

Geof Johns is only good when he has a great director like Patty Jenkins or Christopher Nolan. They need Another set of eyes. If they gave it to Snyder they can give it to someone else as the co-leader.

Yeah, I can't understand why no one was checking Snyder's scripts from MoS and BvS. They could've been perfect movies if there'd be minor tweaks to the source. Could've saved us all some pain.

"No kill Snyder! No!"

What you said. I would like Nolan as Executive Producer/write of the movies and to establish a definite tone. Then let the individual directors then create within that format. If that was the case in MoS then Zod wouldn't have gotten killed. And Clark would have made a smoother transition into Superman.

The two didn't mix well aesthetically. At all.

I really wish they didn't choose to digitally create Steppenwolf.
He would have looked awesome with just make up and prosthetics.

Geoff Johns wasn't even president of DC Films when Nolan made his Batman movies and Wonder Woman was already being made when Johns did become president of DC Films so I am not sure how you came to that conclusion.

I’m still struggling to understand why Snyder’s visuals are considered special.

His CGI battles have all looked like crap.

I'm just saying he isn't the key to the movies doing good. Someone else has to be involved. He has extended knowledge of the characters. But not for translating into a movie.
