It just "rubs me the wrong way" and I can't put my finger on specifics,...

If "the last four issues of JSA" refers to the OYL arc just before it was canceled, I imagine it might've rubbed Varient the wrong way because it was really f***ing lame. Crappy villain, crappy plot, crappy dialogue, crappy art. Just a thought.

Yeah, the last arc on JSA sucked. Beyond that, I haven't read anything about Jesse Quick being on the team, and I'm actually betting my money on Liberty Belle being Jesse Quick.

It was pretty damn bad. The Flash comic and JSA really limped their way to the OYL finish line, that's for sure.

Yeah his style really had dated, it wasn't a good story.

I enjoyed the Gentlemen Ghost stuff... but mainly because of Luke Ross' art.
