You guys are crazy. Sam Neill is great in the first movie.
He was the only smart and capable character in the whole film. Not to mention he was selfless and put himself in danger repeatedly for Claire and her nephews and cared about the dinosaurs. Fallen Kingdom did his character dirty.Chris Pratt's character should have died in the first film. He's the dumb center-piece of this dumb trilogy. Bryce Dallas Howard's character is fine, but would have faced greater danger and been easier to root for had she not been accompanied by a walking action figure the whole time.

for me he and the Trex are the stars of this franchise. Lost world was ok but was clearly missing him and jp3 while it sucked neil added a salvageable component to it

My theater laughed so hard at that scene
The Raptor charge was happening with or without him. He went along to reduce the risk to everyone as much as possible. And it only failed because the Indo had raptor DNA which none of the team can be blamed for since they were not told. He's not particularly smart though. Everyone else is just really stupid. He's jokes and smarm half the time, and agrees to lead that ridiculous raptor charge that kills nearly all involved. He's a stock action hero in a series where the strongest characters were doctors and scientists.
This scene is double silly cause he hasn’t interacted with those type of raptors yet
If you ask me, he's great in both movies he's been in. Still, Goldblum remains my favorite of the whole franchise haha. You guys are crazy. Sam Neill is great in the first movie.
I thought he did great given the material but his Dr. Grant is definitely different than the bookYou guys are crazy. Sam Neill is great in the first movie.
I actually think Ford's portrayal of Grant would have been in the same ballpark as Neill's since I'm inclined to believe that the script was written with Ford in mind. He's got that same kind of Ford grumpiness about him.I thought he did great given the material but his Dr. Grant is definitely different than the book
Wonder if Harrison Ford had taken the role as Spielberg originally wanted, how Grant would have been portrayed as
Maybe I'm in the minority here but I like very single character in every single Jurassic movie. Is the big franchise exception where I don't dislike any of the movies, I could watch any of them anytime.
Yeah, she's fine. It's at the very bottom of the list, but she's fine.Even Téa Leoni's character?
Dear God.
For Trevorrow, getting the three of them back together was a major moment – and one he knew he had to share with the legendary filmmaker who united them in the first place. “The moment everybody shows up for the first time together, they’re all packed into a Jeep,” teases Trevorrow. “And I took a picture of it and I sent it to Steven [Spielberg]. He got very emotional. I don’t think even he was prepared for how moving it would be to see all of those characters that he loves, and people that he loves, looking incredible and on an adventure together.”
Alan, Ellie and Ian will be back alongside Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard’s Jurassic World duo Owen Grady and Claire Dearing – and according to the director, the film will be shared equally between both generations of Jurassic heroes. It’s a balancing act that benefited from the downtime production took during the pandemic. “A movie like this, with our legacy characters playing as large a role as our modern characters, it’s challenging to bring it all together in a way that has momentum, and also isn’t a five-hour-long movie," the director says. "It was nice to have the time to make sure that every character is honoured in the way that they need to be.” Who’s ready for an adventure 65 million and 29 years in the making?
Not necessarily; there were some dinosaurs that lived in occasionally snowy environments, and the big ones wouldn't have too much trouble keeping themselves warm through size alone. As long as it didn't drop below freezing for extended periods of time, the large ones would be fine.I am assuming that is why he is leading that dinosaur by a rope? Trying to get it out of there?
It's just an excuse to keep their brand of raptors around, but they have to keep changing the designs for the same reason MCU superheroes get costume upgrades every movie. I think this is the first time it's being justified with an actual taxonomy change, though I think the rules for the roster is basically Pick a name that sounds cool and work from there (I'm sure that's why Pyroraptor olympius is gonna be in the film) especially considering that all we actually have from Atrociraptor in terms of fossil material is this and it's only about the size of a dog. I mean if you're gonna have giant raptors, why not just use ones that actually exist? Utahraptor, Dakotaraptor, Achillobator, hell even Austroraptor are all right there...LOL… maybe include some dinosaurs that don’t just look like slightly bigger velociraptors? Though at least this one is an actual dinosaur that existed and not just some “hybrid” they created so it could do whatever the plot requires.

It's kinda like how in the first Jurassic World: Evolution game, they decided to include Deinonychus (the animal that JP Velociraptor was actually based on all this time) but because they didn't wanna stray off-brand or whatever, they went and did this to it:
Also that Empire photo is the worst picture to use to try selling us on the Atrociraptor.
And I find most JP characters annoying lolMaybe I'm in the minority here but I like every single character in every single Jurassic movie. Is the big franchise exception where I don't dislike any of the movies, I could watch any of them anytime.
Throughout the franchise, I only felt that one character should have survived that died, and that was Robert Muldoon, who survived in the book IIRC. The man was quite experienced with the raptors and had even more experience in the wild, so him going out like that, while memorable, was still insulting. The old JP expanded universe comics seemed to agree, as they brought him back from the dead with a hand wave of an explanation as to how he survived a raptor eating his face.Yeah honestly I don’t like many JP characters in either series of films. Even in the first one, I hated how they changed critical aspects of some of the main characters and/or killed half the people who were supposed to survive while letting people who should have been goners escape. Still a very good movie but I guess that’s why I’ve never held this franchise in super high regard.
