I just heard they are keeping 0 connections with the old trilogy, so is this a reboot?

I think it's taking place in the same continuity. There's just won't be nothing mentioned about the first three movies.

I'm having a hard time seeing Ian and Grant coming back, any other character from the previous films for that matter.

Though I could see Wu coming back. Heck yeah, BD Wong!

As we've started a new thread I'll repost my last comment from the previous one.

I kind of look at it like Star Trek: The Next Generation is a sequel series to Star Trek but not involving the original cast. It's in the same universe but it connects only with certain aspects of the original series while doing it's own take.

Why would he? Its a new generation of characters.

I care more about the past characters then getting new ones. I don't feel like their stories are finished.

I feel like leaving them out shifts the focus to simply "ahhh look dinosaurs" which is in of the many reasons 3 sucked... the characters sell the film just as much as the dinos do

Meh 3 opened up more questions about grant and ellie's friendship imo ..

Id also love to just genuinely see how all the survivors feel about thus new park. That's incredibly interesting to me.

Sticking to (dinosaurs break out, run.. Hide... Survive) alone can only last since long without getting repetitive or "convenient". Character depth keeps a franchise string and going imo.

You mean like i loved the be characters in 2 and 3 (well i guess i liked billy and Sarah. But that was the extent)

okay. well, I guess that's better than a reboot. but it'd be nice to like at least have a cameo from one of them if they can't get ANYONE to return.

Id also like to add that marketability is also important. There's a reason they use movie characters in the jurassic park builder... They're recognizable, and to many iconic . Losing that with a completely clean slate kinda sucks

Oh boy it seemed pretty obvious from the very beginning Sam wouldn't be returning. They aren't going to bring him back just for more on his and Ellie's relationship. You must be kidding me. All the old characters have had their stories told already. No need for more of them really. Time to move on to new characters and accept it. It's happening, so yep. Done deal.

I don't care if its "happening so deal with it" (that logic is so bizarre and ridiculous) id be fine without Sam if they included some others... Reoccuring cast just adds to the continuity that much better. But Sam is and will always be the face of jurassic park to me

Sam's great and it's damned shame he probably won't be in this one.
