Not only is it my first handheld (if you forget the old Game & Watch, which i had 1 or 2), but my first Nintendo console (once again, forget the G&W).
The only game i have is Brain Training (Brain Age in the US), so, suggest some games to me.
And before you ask, i like every genre...
And by the way, can some one help me to download demos and such?
I don´t have wireless connection at home, but when i go somehere with Wi-Fi connection (Mall, McDonalds,...) i still can´t do it.
Do i need something more?

PS - The main reason i bought it is for Sonic Chronicles, not because it´s Sonic, but because i worship everything that Bioware does

Your first Nintendo system :wow:

What the hell is wrong with you :cmad:

The obvious Nintendo franchises:
- New Super Mario Bros.
- Metroid Prime: Hunters
- Star Fox: Command
- the Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
- Mario Kart DS

There are also some traditional Microsoft franchises on the DS too:
- Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword
- Blue Dragon Plus
- Viva Pinata: Pocket Paradise

And before you ask, i like every genre...
Because I have to ask how do you feel about games such as Contra, Castlevania, Dragon Quest, and Final Fantasy? I haven't had the time to try out those games, but I hear that Konami and Square-Enix have delivered great third party support by putting in some pretty good DS games in those series

I dunno, usually when I have a problem with the Wi-Fi, it's because the signal just sucked.

PS - The main reason i bought it is for Sonic Chronicles, not because it´s Sonic, but because i worship everything that Bioware does
For shame, you should have gotten a DS sooner. And for shame on me because I haven't bought a DS game in a while. I should get Lunar Knights because I worship Kojima Productions.

In addition to the ones HH suggested, you should get:

Contra 4
Contact (Great quirky RPG)
Professor Layton and the Curious Villiage
Pokemon Diamond or Pearl (Forget what people say, they are every bit as deep and strategic as any RPG)

Upcoming games:

Chrono Trigger in December (Best RPG made by a mile  )
Final Fantasy IV

I know...:(
Only got into the console fever with the Playstation, so, before that was all computers (Spectrum 48k, Commodore Amiga and PC)
On a side note, i have all Nintendo systems on emulator...

The obvious Nintendo franchises:
- New Super Mario Bros.
- Metroid Prime: Hunters
- Star Fox: Command
- the Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
- Mario Kart DS
Sure, i want them, even some for the GBA, like all FF until the 6th

There are also some traditional Microsoft franchises on the DS too:
- Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword
- Blue Dragon Plus
- Viva Pinata: Pocket Paradise
Blue Dragon still hasn´t been release yet, and if the game is the same as the 360, i don´t care for it, i have the Xbox version.
If it´s a sequel, yeah, i´ll buy it.
NG:DS is a given, Viva Pinata...i never cared for it on the 360, but, then again, i never played it, let´s wait and see

I like JRPG so FF and DQ are a given too.
Castlevania and Contra, sure, i like my action fix

Weird, because it gives me red, meaning signal weak.
Maybe is it, the signal sucks

If i never got into the all console fever prior to the PS, i never got into the haldheld one before now...and i have to thank Bioware for that :)

Professor Layton and the Curious Villiage

Upcoming games:

Chrono Trigger in December (Best RPG made by a mile  )
Final Fantasy IV
I want those, and the upcoming Paper Mario ( i read it´s going to be released this year on Japan, so, i believe/hope it will jump to the western market soon after)

Now, explain to me, why do many RPG have two versions (like the Pokemon games)?
Are they any diferent?

Your first Nintendo system :wow:

Well it depends on how old he is. The last Nintendo home console I got was the SNES back in 1991 and then for portable was a Gameboy Color back around 1998

Well it depends on how old he is.
I´m 32.
But i´m Portuguese, and in Europe, console fever only begun with the Playstation (aka Genesis).
Ok, the Megadrive (aka Genesis) was a hit too, but hardly a fever

oh ok. I thought you were a bit younger. Surprised you didnt at least have an NES

It's a sequel set one year after the events of the first game.

I like JRPG so FF and DQ are a given too.
Well there are remakes for Final Fantasy III and IV, Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings, Final Fantasy Tactics A2, and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates. There are also remakes of Dragon Quest IV, V, and VI along with the next entry in the main series IX

Castlevania and Contra, sure, i like my action fix
There's Contra 4, Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow and Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin.

I want those, and the upcoming Paper Mario ( i read it´s going to be released this year on Japan, so, i believe/hope it will jump to the western market soon after)
Rumor has it that it is just a port of the original Paper Mario.

To make money off of you.

Are they any diferent?
I played Pokemon Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver, and Crystal and the answer is not really.

The only difference between two versions of a Pokemon game released at the same time, is that each game has certain ones you can't catch, but you can catch them in the opposite game.

It is purely to get more money.

If you want a good mystery/old school adventure game be sure to pick up Hotel Dusk.

I bought my first two games for the DS (besides Brain Age).
Spider-Man 3 (because the reviews said it was the best version, because i haven´t bought a Spidey game since the PS1 one and because it´s played using the stylus, and it was budget) and Final Fantasy III.

Final Fantasy III

Geometry Wars for the DS was pretty cool too.

I have a DS, and I look forward to that GTA game that they announced recently.

If you like a good dungeon crawler I suggest Etrian Odyssey 2. Create your own party from several classes, customize them to your liking via skill tree, and head into a place where you literally have to map out the dungeon if you want to make heads or tails of it let alone survive the foes (think bosses, that pop out in some places, and are about 10 levels above you). Grind intensive game, but really really fun I've found.

Definately Hotel Dusk, plus get "The World Ends with You", very addicting, great Story from Square-Enix.

For your age, I suggest:

- Advance Wars Days of Ruin or Dual Strike
- Tetris DS
- Metroid Prime: Hunters
- Hotel Dusk
- Professor Layton and the Curious Village
- Elite Beat Agents
- Space Invaders Extreme
- Phoenix Wright (any of them)

-TNC

The obvious Nintendo franchises:
- New Super Mario Bros.
- Metroid Prime: Hunters
- Star Fox: Command
- the Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
- Mario Kart DS

Those all pretty much go without saying, along with Super Mario 64 DS, Pokemon D&P, and Custom Robo Arena. :woot:

Phantom Hourglass is some of the most fun i've had on the DS.

I just got a DS as well, used but in great condition at the place I work at. Actually I picked up a N64 (all cables + 2 controllers), 3 N64 games, the DS, Nintendogs and FF Tactics (for GBA) all for about $25 with my employee discount.

I never thought I'd be so into Nintendogs, I feel like a loser but damn that games addicting.

How are those Brain Age games?
I'm also looking for some good games, will check out some of these suggestions.
This is the first handheld I've owned since the original Game Boy (the first release...AKA the brickboy).

I finally bought a DS game for the first time in a long time about a week ago with Final Fantasy III, hurray for me

Advance Wars series, both of them are great
FF Tactics: A2
Bleach: Blade of Fate
Mario Kart DS
Age of Empires DS

Mario Kart DS, Metroid Prime: Hunters, Super Mario 64 DS, New Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, just to name a few.

Almost all of these above games have endless replay value, great graphics and gameplay modes, and inspire some nostalgia for the classic Nintendo franchises.

I bought Phantom Hourglass and loved every minute of it. The gameplay was just ridiculously fun and the incorporation of the mic and stylus was truly amazing. LOVE THIS GAME!!!
I hadn't played a Legend of Zelda game since the Adventures of Link (though I did start playing "a Link to the Past" a few months ago, I should go back to that).

I may really get a DS in the morning. Is it worth it?
