Man, what a blast. My nephew and I played it a lot this weekend, and I only have Wii Sports and Zelda! Which other games would you recommend?

Wise choice with Zelda. Red Steel is worth a rental or used purchase.

Warioware Smooth Moves, Sonic and the Secret Rings, and SSX Blur are worth a looksy.

WarioWare: Smooth Moves
Super Paper Mario in April
Elebits is a very fun game also.

I'd recommend Wario Ware: Smooth Moves, as its incredibly goofy and a whole lot of fun, but Wario Ware, though legendary where I'm from, isn't for everyone.

The Wii titles that are genuinely worth playing won't come until a few more weeks (with Super Paper Mario coming next month.) Zelda (God bless its holy name) should be able to keep you busy until then. However, there are some pretty decent titles out now:

SSX Blur
Sonic and the Secret Rings
Rayman Raving Rabbids
Red Steel
Elebits
Excite Truck

The best game out of this bunch is probably Elebits and Excite Truck, but I highly recommend that you rent them before commiting to a purchase. Don't get me wrong, they are fun, but a whole lot more is waiting down the road:

-Super Mario Galaxy
-Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
-Super Smash Brothers: Brawl
-Wii Music
-Wii Health
-Big Brain Academy
-Pokemon Battle Revolution
-No More Heroes
-Forever Blue

And tons more.

EDIT: Wii Play is also a smart purchase if you need an extra Wii Remote (it comes packaged with an extra remote.)

Mirko has a Wii? Oh god. This is like when Mr. Belding started wearing buddy-bands.

:down

Side note: Is Wii Play really that good? I kinda just want it for the billiards game since SMB:BB didn't have one despite the first two games having an excellent one. :down

I think it's worth it, becauseI needed another controller and some of the games on it are very fun.

If you don't need any controllers though, if you can get it on ebay for really cheap, it would be worth it. I enjoy it, even if it isn't on par with Wii Sports.

How is the Billiards game? I have four controllers already. :csad:

how did you get it? where did you find it?

i like duck hunt in wii play. :yay:

Wii Play really is a $10 demo. I only got it for the spare controller (I havent found a single one since launch). Billiards is okay once you get the hang of it, but Duck Hunt and Cow Racing are the only really fun games. The laser hockey and tank games are decent.

Thanks guys! I'll definitely get Super Paper Mario then and try out the rest.

What about Super Mario Galaxy, shouldn't I wait for that instead? When does that come out?

Super Paper Mario and Super Mario Galaxy are such entirely different games that you'll have no problem enjoying both. If your short on cash, then yeah, Super Mario Galaxy is the way to go. But Super Paper Mario is going to be great, too. As for release dates, we know that Super Paper Mario is coming out next month, but we don't know the release date for Super Mario Galaxy. For better or for worse, Nintendo is a highly conservative company when it comes to these things, and we'll just have to patient.:yay:

Shiggy said later this year for Galaxy. So they're probably pushing a Christmas rush... although in reality I see something more like February next year. That game looks sooooo beautiful.... especially now that I'm seeing more variety in the levels.

I have been guessing early next year also, but Mr. Mario himself just recently assured people that we would see it before the end of 2007.

I hope he's right.:yay:

How are you, my laddy?

I'm doing good, my friend

It's been too long. :csad:

I also just got a Wii, and figured I'd ask this question in an existing thread instead of making a new one.

I got my Wii primarily to play Smash Brothers Brawl. Now I like using the Gamecube controller to play it, instead of the Wii remote or nunchuk controller thingy... Problem is, I didn't know how hard it was to find a brand name Gamecube controller. So I'd like to know if anyone here has had any experience with some of the off brand versions, like the GameStop controller for instance. It sells at their stores for around 14.99 U.S.. I've considered getting one of those.

I know MadCatz makes a compatible controller but I'm don't trust them at all. I think Nintendo themselves makes one too, but I'm not positive.

So if anyone has some advice about which type of off brand that would work best, or if I should maybe hold out for an official Gamecube one, it'd be much appreciated.

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.

Nintendo makes their own GC controller and I think you should still be able to find the wired one in stores. Wavebird has strangely been discontinued which makes no sense.

Check Target, Walmart, Toys R Us, Best Buy. They should have Nintendo's GC controller. If you're interested, I could check some stores near me and pick them up for you.
