Guitar Hero: 80's Edition is announced.

Activision has announced another sequel for the award winning music game franchise to distribution and retailers. Guitar Hero 80's Edition will arrive on the PS2 in June on the 13th and will retail for $39.99. Of course, release dates always like to shift around, but as this is Activision's initial printing of the date to distributers, hopefully this one will stick.

i don't know how i missed ever hearing about this game, but i've been dying to get guitar hero for a long time now (short on funds)... now i have to get it. i love the 80's.

oh, and farmer, why in the world would you spend $600 on a ps3, then turn it in 4 or 5 months later? when you (as a frequent visitor to these boards) know full well what games are/aren't coming out for it at any given time? that makes no sense whatsoever. it's not like you bought it, then said "eff it, there's no games out now, so i'm turning it back in!" because you knew what games were coming out for it, and when, so, what's the deal?

did you really ever even have one? or were you just saying you bought one so you could say you turned it back in because it "sucks"?

I did buy one, but returned that one because it was just an impulse buy.

I got one for Christmas, had a few games for it, and ended up disappointed.

I was a HUGE Sony fan with the PS1 and PS2, but 360 swayed me to the other side. I gave PS3 a chance, and was heavily disappointed.

I have my own opinion, everyone does. So I don't see why my opinion doesn't matter, and I don't see what makes you think you can just attack it anytime you want.

Motorstorm was the game I wanted a PS3 for. I played it for a few weeks, it was alright.

The only ones that appeal to me are MGS4 and Motorstorm. I had Motorstorm, and I don't think I'm gonna spend $600 more on a PS3 for MGS4 only.

you don't have to scan anything, guy... i was just saying, what you were saying sounded like a bold faced lie to me, given your track record of anti-sony bravada... i guess i didn't take into account that you may have gotten the ps3 for a gift. scanning the receipt proves little, though, as i could go and google an image of one right now. but i stand by my statement, especially with the ps2. why would you return that? you couldn't have gotten more than a few dollars for it.

I returned it because the only games I had were the Guitar Hero series, 1 and 2.

But since 2 is coming to 360, I decided I was done playing it on PS2. And downloadable content means more songs, etc., so I traded it in.

No no no, I bought a PS3, actually, but returned it the next day out of impulse... and the fact that they were going for below-price on eBay. So I got one about a week later for Christmas.

I used to love PS2, didn't really like Xbox. But once they switched controllers and when Live got started up, I bought an Xbox and was in love with it... and the games looked better on it. The only thing that kept me going was the exclusiveness of the MGS series. And in this day and age, it seems like the "console exclusive", third-party-wise, is fading away big-time. So I'm just gonna take my chances and wait for MGS4 on PS3.

I just wanted to tell my side of the story, here. I have nothing against you at all, I just thought it was odd that in two threads you were saying the same things. I'm over it.

It's the way it works around here. There are a couple of people who hate the Wii, but still feel the need to troll the Nintendo boards on a regular basis.

I travel all three, just not as much as the Nintendo boards. At some point I hope to own either a 360 or PS3...just don't know which. Probably a PS3 at some point just because of Ratchet and Clank.
