Justice League Justice League - All the Deleted Footage SPOILER Talk - Part 1

One of the most disappointing things about JL was the action. It was so weird for a damn Justice League movie directed by Snyder to be so light on action. The alleged way the movie played out made so much more sense.

That extended 15 minute opening battle. Flash had actual fight scenes with parademons instead of ****ting his pants constantly and being a noob. Punching rocks out of the way to save people. The STAR labs fight. The parademon v Atlantian fight. Whatever was happening with Cyborg blocking a truck. The warehouse 2.0 scene with parademons would have been glorious. The Old Bailey terrorist attack was quite a bit longer too. Remember Aquaman skewering parademons in slow mo? For all intents and purposes, before this movie was screwed with, it had tons of action and it was all totally varied, original and suitably epic.

Edit: I even forgot about Deathstroke breaking Lex out of Arkham! We all pretty much know Snyder wouldn't have just made Luthor show up on a boat with Deathstroke out of nowhere without any scenes preceding it. I'm pretty damn sure the rumors were right and there was a "The Raid" style action scene where Slade murders his way through Arkham security and breaks Lex out. So add that to the list. sigh.

Im not to sure about the legitimacy about the breakout. The switcheroo then makes little sense.

But the entirely different final battle scene, and all the clipped fights I would have loved to see.

If we can recognize Zack's bit just by how the scenes look, then the switcheroo is totally Zack, it just looks so rich.

The "breakout" thing is just one of those many that was assumed by someone online and the rest of the internet ran with it; I'll bet what we saw at the end is all Zack filmed with Lex and Slade.

This.

The Switcheroo could be Whedon

Nah. I thought it was a dig at the people who wanted Lex recast and acting like the Joker lol.

On a serious note I heard that the decision to add that scene as post credit was a very late decision. Makes sense, since it didnt seem to have the Whedon color grading.

Interesting. I remember sitting in the theater and the moment the scene came out, without a doubt my brain went "Snyder!"; it's like, for us fans who are familiar with his style already, that whole scene is undoubtedly his, and also felt like visually, that's the richest scene in the whole film, it has "depth" visually, if that makes sense.

We'll see when the Snyder cut comes out :oldrazz:

PS. Remember when I mentioned Filmjunkee talking about the Snyder cut and weirdly putting a bunch of emphasis on "maybe it's 3 and a half hours"? Well in his latest podcast he said it again so it's safe to assume he really was infering the cut was 3 and a half hours. Doesn't mean he's correct, just that he's claiming it is.

Everybody claims lots of things in the internet....I don't believe any single one of them.

But that's just me.

Think about it though, if Deathstroke was just a one-off scene then it wouldn't have made any sense to spoil the surprise.

This was released by Affleck to hype him as the villan of The Batman, so there was no big surprise there for JL, of course that didn't pan out as expected, but the cat was out of the bag already....

I don't either, I was just saying that's what he's inferring. It wasn't clear if he was actually making that inference before. With him repeating that specific (and unusually long) runtime, it confirms that he's making that inference, that's all. Whether it's true is a whole different story.

Yeah it was used to generate hype for the Batman but I'm pretty sure that if he really was this epic cameo appearance and nothing more, they would have kept it a secret.

Nah, I get it man...I really don't care about any of these people with their blogs and their youtube channels and their desperate need for their 15 minutes of shame...and that particular one annoys me :oldrazz:

I guess we'll never know now (unless they #ReleaseTheSnyderCut :woot: )

I doubt that Snyder would make a three and half hour movie after what WB did to BvS.

That's what those kinds of epic cameos are for. To shock and hype audiences up because they weren't expecting it. I think Snyder had a whole bunch of scenes with Slade, and for all he knew, they'd be in the marketing so why not drop the bombshell and generate hype? If it isn't going to stay a surprise anyway? I think John Cleese was supposed to be Wintergreen too.

But yes. #ReleaseTheSnyderCut :sly:

Dammit, I forgot that Cleese was supposed to be involved too...

:csad:

Me too. Hell I don't think 3 and a half hour movies are even allowed in theatres in wide release? Are they? It's weird. Maybe it was the assembly cut. Although, there was a picture lock right? They were color correcting and the movie was locked? So if this 3 and a half hour runtime is true (and that's a big if) then I doubt it's for the assembly cut.

It makes complete sense to me. I noticed that most of the Whedon scenes bar few looked very flat visually, kinda like TV cinematography. I liked his style in the Batman opening and the lake side scene though.

I think the plan was then to have the Batman film by Affleck to release in mid 2018. So Affleck teased Deathstroke as a villain in his film, which by the time JL released, already would have a trailer out :csad:

Same here. So fake.

My guess is 2hr30mins. But a longer cut like 3hr wouldnt shock me.

I muted that hashtag on twitter. It was cool for a couple of months as a support to the filmmaker, but now its just annoying and cringey when people post it on irrelevant stuff.

The more it's posted the more likely we are to get it. I'm glad it hasn't died down.

the more likely we are to get it. =

Hopefully so! I personally dont see them doing anything for a couple of hashtags under irrelevant stuff, but who knows.

Since the BR is coming out in a month, when do you see them announcing it if they release it?

After the Blu ray sales for the theatrical cut peter out for sure. I think it'd be cool if it filled that big gap we have by virtue of only one DCEU movie coming out in 2018 (and right at the end, no less). One movie in the whole year isn't enough for DC to sustain the appropriate degree of relevance and momentum in today's media landscape.
