Justice League Justice League - All the Deleted Footage SPOILER Talk - Part 2

Removing this is a travesty...We need more Alfred and Bruce bonding time

Honestly, I don't even care if the effects are unfinished or whatever, I'd still watch the Snyder cut. I just would love to see how everything was meant to be for myself.

lol i feel the same.

we need to get that closure.

I feel like we won't even if we got it. I think WB forced Snyder to consolidate part 1 and 2 into one movie so, in all likelihood, the vision was already compromised even before Snyder left.

Is that even possible like with the time they had? Idk.

My guess? Snyder's original plan was the league brought together by Bruce to fight Steppenwolf in JL 1(with a lot of setup for JL2), while a big Final Crisis type JL 2, against Darkseid.

I think after BvS, they toned down the set up for JL2, to make JL1 more standalone. I still think the JL film Snyder shot had Darkseid in it, and left things open for a possible JL2 with Darkseid or with LOD.

Maybe all he did was add closure and tie up loose ends rather than have plot threads dangling like an ending where after the final battle Superman turns evil, the Earth moprhs into apokolips and we segue into the Knightmare stuff which would be resolved by part 2.

While in theory that might be true(the not having plot threads dangling)...I really dont think they would have had the present timeline go into a Knightmare scenario. Makes Barry's sacrifice/visit to the past, kinda pointless.

You heard how they did the same thing with Infinity War, that they initially announced it as Part 1 and 2, then it become just Infinity War and its sequel? I think similar decision was made with JL. I'm obviously just guessing here, but I dont think they were leave on a cliffhanger and lead into part 2, like HP Deathly Hallows did. I think it was kinda like BvS and JL. BvS heavily sets up JL, and kinda teases the future at the end(dirt rising), but its not really a part 1 kinda thing.

I see it like comicbook volumes. The immediate story has a beginning middle and end, but there is a larger story always in place. I think that's what Snyder was going for in BvS, JL1 and JL2.

Right you are. I thought it was some terrible attempt by the graphic's department of the magazine, to remove the stuff around the camera.

You gotta love it how together they all are in this version of the scene. Then in Whedons they are like 10 meters away from each other lol.

Probably helps that they were all actually there for Snyder's scene instead of being pasted into the frame for Whedon's.:o

Diana was a literal PNG being dragged across the screen

Imagine being an actor/actress filming those reshoots while keeping the enthusiasm of said-scene. All slaps in the face to them.

Let's be fair, who the heck has even watched the BvS theatrical cut after the UE was released? :funny:

I do!
I obviously liked the UC version the 1st time I saw it because it answered every question I had after watching the TC.
But for me personally, I can't stand Amy Adams version of Lois & she's in the UC a lot.
Now that everything makes sense, I enjoy the TC soo much more. Less AA Lois, the better. For me anyway.

It's the version WB landed on after removing everything that wasn't strictly necessary and condensing the movie to ridiculous degrees. They even removed basic film stuff like establishing shots.

When I 1st saw the TC I was so mad!
I get that in some movies, they don't walk the viewer step by step through scenes because you can figure out what is going on if you are really paying attention.
But more than a few of the scenes were just silly in the way they were shown.
After watching the UC version, like I said, it answered everything.
Why they edited it the way they did, I'll never understand.

Side note:
Since this is the Justice League area, I should say something about JL! lol

I can't bring myself to watch it again which is not like me at all when it comes to movies/topics I love. My kids make fun of me because I'll
re-watch a new movie everyday for weeks. I love when I find new things I missed previously.
But JL broke my heart. The difference between Snyder scenes & Whedon scenes was jarring.
Seeing what was done to Superman/Clark, what they allowed to be a part of the final cut was sickening. And in the very 1st scene too!
The added in jokes, were cringy. Some of the added scenes looked like those really old Soap Operas back in the day when they filmed them live. If that makes sense.
I can go on & on but I won't lol.
My only hope was that they would release a Snyder cut. Seeing what Whedon shoved in makes me want to see what Snyder wanted to do soooo much more.

Is there even a synopsis or anything with what Snyder had floating around? I neeeed it

WB got cold feet on the longer run time. They probably believed they had to have them 50 showings a nite before the bad buzz got out.
Until it's proven otherwise, I will continue to believe the runtime on Snyder's film was probably 2 and a half hours, maybe more. No telling what was cut.

One thing is for sure, if snyder had remained, we WOULD NOT have had moustache gate.
You think he would have approved that shet? me either.

Well we wouldn't of had reshoots in the first place. Specially ones that added nothing except continuity issues and terrible one-liners and jokes. Seriously, at that work and money thrown away for such stupidity. Now JL will forever be remembered as a moustache joke.

yea, from a customer's viewpoint.

if you're gonna throw more money into reshooting big parts of the movie, then you gotta do better than what we got.

you gotta be on the level of those star wars rogue one reshoots/additional scenes.

one of my friends recently watched JL - he's not a big fan or follow of the online news.
he's just vaguely aware of the cgi mustache stuff - he only heard about how stupid it looked (which is the first thing that most people think of when it comes to JL now...yuck)

after he was done with the movie - he said "I didn't see the benefit of adding all those cgi superman lips."
which is the collective opinion of everyone who has seen the movie.

What WW rescue scene could have been... the MoS level of pure awesome amazing action epicness. Just look at that fantastic camera work! Don't even try to compare that to what we got in the theatrical cut since it'll leave you in eternal bitterness.

Why??? Why did they completely cut it out???

All I keep thinking now is why didn’t they just release Snyders film and forget the reshoots. They apparently weren’t confident in it anyway so it made even less sense.

It's baffling to every extent and on every level for me. I just can't trust this studio any longer if they really didn't "trust" Snyder's cut but then turn around and approve and greenlight the reshoots to be put into the film. Most of, if not all of the reshoots (excluding the horrific and laughable dialogue) was amateur and pathetic at best. Now they are releasing Snyder's scenes and they are so incredibly superior to your point of everything about this makes NO sense whatsoever. I'm getting to the point where I wish they would have just scrapped JL altogether if they were going to do this crap. On one hand I'm happy we got stuff like Superman v The League (as watered down as it was) but on the other hand, knowing what Snyder's vision was and how egg was going to be on WB's face anyway, it's a bitter experience as a fan of these films. But...end of the year bonus's and stuff.

It's going to take some time for WB to win me back. But I am sitting here waiting and hoping to be won back. A Henry Cavill-led Superman solo film is a good start.

This shot was not in this movie. I really loved this shot with the glowing shield symbols.

Damn Ray is swole

Also can't tell if this is reshoots or not because Affleck is missing the batgoggles and he was going to wear them for the final battle in Snyder's version.
