I'm salty GL (either Hal or Jon Stewart) and Martian Manhunter weren't included in the first Justice League film.

Again, worldwide, not really.
Also the movie did not do exceptionally well overseas. Good but not great.
It is one of the great mysteries of the universe to me, the difference in the receptions of it.

Not to derail this, but I didn't like it at all.

I just posted evidence showing otherwise. Wonder Woman is an icon in North and South America and her merchandising sales have caught up with Batman and The Avengers. Plus there's also DC Superhero Girls and cosmetic related products. The character is only brand new to Asia and to a lesser extent Europe.

I fully expect WW2 to increase its overseas total from its predecessor by a good margin, assuming quality remains the same.

Anyway, Wonder Woman outgrossing JL by herself?!! Wow! Can't believe that's going to be a reality soon!

DCFU is shaping up well: Wan, Reeves, Sandberg, they give me hope.
Aquamoa is the big question but I'm confident in The Batman and Shazam.

We didn't care much before and do not care much now either.

This is not a gauge of the character, she's more than fine in itself.

I can believe it, mostly because I was there for opening night of BvS with some friends, all comic book fans. No allegiance to one brand. We started exchanging WTF? glances after about 10 minutes, and it never really stopped throughout the movie.

We all knew the source material. Dark Knight Returns. Death of Superman. Watchmen. If it felt bizarre and confusing to us, I can only imagine how it felt for more casual audience members.

That movie made a big impression, and it was not a good one. So we are seeing the results of that now, I think. Wonder Woman had a story and characters that worked. That is the difference.

That's the main thing these movies need.

These characters do deserve better. I wonder if Dark Knight had been the starting point for a DC Movie universe instead of MoS

Maybe they could've gotten a better director for a Superman movie while riding off the high of DK.

Sorry, I really am not trolling you, I swear.
In Europe people go less to the cinema than NA or Asia, all considered superheroes perform well, not as dominant at the box office as everywhere else.
Keep in mind that in Italy Marvel sold more copies for their series than in NA throughout the '90s. I do not know how it is right now though.

The timing of this is pretty bad for people at WB when Thanksgiving is next week. The execs won't just be losing jobs but it'll trickle down to the smaller guys too who had nothing to do with the situation. So they'll be thinking about what their next job will be rather than time spent with family & friends. That's gotta suck, imagine going to work on Monday hoping you'll make it Thanksgiving with a job

JL may be underperforming in North America and Europe (they hate DC) but it's doing good in Asia and Latin America, particularly China, The Philippines and Brazil. Silver lining

I really hope we do see Apokolips and Darkseid. If not in a JL sequel, in a separate film or later on when the DCEU has...recovered...
