This is a continuation thread, the old thread is [split]536439[/split]
Imagine for a second, that The Last Jedi comes out, and it just completely whiffs it. Its a huge disaster, financially and critically. Do you really think Disney/Lucasfilm will move forward with Rian Johnsons Trilogy?
It just boggles my mind why WB allowed this to occur. Why was this allowed to happen?

About a month ago I did my prediction and people called me crazy for having low numbers. To even think that the movie is going to have lower numbers than I've predicted is bizarre.

Nobody was expecting this, nuts!
WB was clearly trying to position their universe as a more prestigious and adult-oriented one, hence them doubling down with BVS, and even the original plan for Suicide Squad to be darker and more mature than what we ended up getting. Like if you watch BVS, it's very clear everyone involved thought this was a super deep masterpiece that was gonna be hailed as a mature comic book movie for grown-ups.
Overseas will save this....

No chance.
Shoot me for an opinion.
I find the comparison with Divergent very interesting. Could DC focus on the TV universe then? The CW Arrowverse is doing great, maybe integrating WW into that, and going into movies in a few years might do the trick. From Forbes:
Occams Razor suggests that folks didnt like Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice so they stayed away from the sequel. Like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, a retooled, lighter, more kid-friendly this is what the last film should have been sequel was comparatively rejected because audiences sampled the last one out of curiosity and didnt like it. If you consider Justice League to be the third chapter in Zack Snyders DC Films trilogy following Man of Steel and Dawn of Justice, then Justice League played like the third Divergent movie. Fans and general audiences decided not to be fooled for the third time.
This. In big bright colour-corrected lettering, with heavy CGI moustache removal.
The reason why JL has failed is due to Batman v Superman.
Disagreeing with you is not shooting you for your opinion.
Give it a rest.Shoot me for an opinion.

Loving the lack of belief here..... shocking.
