@IamtheBatman: was it confirmed that Renner was out as Hawkeye? Just the other day I read that it "could" happen, but it hadn't happened yet, sucks if it did, damn Marvel/Disney.....WTF??

Looks like another Terrence Howard situation.

If the rumors are true and WB decides to launch solo movies after the Justice League, is going to be harder for them since most people only care about Superman and Batman, is not a coincidence Wonder Woman and company don't get that much attention outside the JL.

The film will undoubtedly boost interest in each character.

So WW and Flash will benefit.

There will be a great Wonder Woman film one day. :yay:

lol, I guess Quicksilver is quicker than the Flash. He'll arrive in a movie faster. :o

WHY are people convinced that Woder Woman and Flash will do horribly? By that logic, no one should have cared about 5/6s of the Avengers (Hulk seemed fairly exposed) before their debuts. Only Spiderman and X-Men. If they're made well and marketed the right way, their movies could become as wildly popular as Iron Man, Batman, Spiderman, you name it.

yep starting to sound like it, and even though I like Don Cheadle as Rhode, Howard I think suited the role better :S, just my opinion on that.

@IAmTheBatman: yeah, and by ticking off the Marvel execs probably means all he did was ask when he should expect to get a call for when they needed him next lol (no I'm not joking).

Goyer said he has some ideas for a Wonder Woman film, I'd like to see what he's cooking up in that noggin of his lol.

I'm hoping THOR: The Dark World does well, cause if it does then WB/DC should snag Alan Taylor and have him direct Wonder Woman :p

Marvel getting rid of Renner wouldn't be anything shocking. They've shown many times already that they are not afraid to just dispose of you if you dare to disagree with them on certain topics and issues.

The reason people don't care about the rest is because they don't get much attention. By giving them that attention and writing + portraying them good, people will start to care.

Nobody outside comic book fans cared about Iron Man prior to the MCU either. Heck, even a lot of comic book fans didn't care about Iron Man. He was even less popular than Flash and WW here. Now he is arguably Marvel's most iconic and biggest cash cow after Spider-Man.

I'm probably getting ahead of myself at the moment but, what's the point of having wanda and pietro in this movie? wanda i get. maybe they'd like to reboot after phase three and she's the key to it. but adding pietro (even if they are twins) just seems like the sort of thing to do just to do it before dc does it with the flash. especially when they'd have to toy with their origins given the status of mutants with fox.

I think part of Iron Man's popularity is due to RDJ playing him the way he does. Otherwise, people would have been into Iron Man before that. I mean he's playing himself basically just as a superhero, one that the general audience never knew much about.. So when RDJ came on the scene it was new and fresh and fun and everyone now thinks Tony Stark is RDJ. I don't think Iron Man movies will be as successful without him. It's embarrassing to think about someone doing a poor impersonation. I'm thinking of "Gary" from the van in IM3.

Big mistake in my opinion if WB decide to follow that format.

Whedon is good at writing inter-character material. I'm sure he wanted this as the brother-sister relationship gives him a chance for some good emotional moments..& a lot of cool lines. :word: It's much better that they 1st appear together like this IMO.

And as for Flash it just means WB/DC need to make his introduction that much better. His character is completely different to Quicksilver. It should be the equivalent of introducing Iron Man after War Machine. ie Iron Man would still rock.

That stupid rumor was finally debunked today. Renner was never going anywhere, and Hawkeye will appear in future MCU movies. Now people can stop asking about it.

Just wanted to post this here from the Superman thread, from the Man of Steel Prequel comic:

Besides the RDJ factor, IM as a character is more relatable than Wonder Woman and easier to adapt than other characters too. Regarding popularity, the Hulk as a character is more popular than WW, Flash and Green Lantern, that's why he has more cartoons, series, movies, sells more toys and merchandise, just the way it is.

Wonder Woman is probably the only exception to that since a lot of people can't relate to her or know what to do with her including most comic book fans and writers. However, there is no reason why Flash or Green Lantern can't be just as big and successful as Iron Man. Flash is essentially the most human and most relatable DC character there is.
