This is a continuation thread, the old thread is [split]456905[/split]
@IamtheBatman: was it confirmed that Renner was out as Hawkeye? Just the other day I read that it "could" happen, but it hadn't happened yet, sucks if it did, damn Marvel/Disney.....WTF??
Looks like another Terrence Howard situation.

If the rumors are true and WB decides to launch solo movies after the Justice League, is going to be harder for them since most people only care about Superman and Batman, is not a coincidence Wonder Woman and company don't get that much attention outside the JL.

Whedon is good at writing inter-character material. I'm sure he wanted this as the brother-sister relationship gives him a chance for some good emotional moments..& a lot of cool lines.ЯɘvlveR;25867033 said:I'm probably getting ahead of myself at the moment but, what's the point of having wanda and pietro in this movie? wanda i get. maybe they'd like to reboot after phase three and she's the key to it. but adding pietro (even if they are twins) just seems like the sort of thing to do just to do it before dc does it with the flash. especially when they'd have to toy with their origins given the status of mutants with fox.
That stupid rumor was finally debunked today. Renner was never going anywhere, and Hawkeye will appear in future MCU movies. Now people can stop asking about it.Looks like another Terrence Howard situation.
Nobody outside comic book fans cared about Iron Man prior to the MCU either. Heck, even a lot of comic book fans didn't care about Iron Man. He was even less popular than Flash and WW here. Now he is arguably Marvel's most iconic and biggest cash cow after Spider-Man.
Besides the RDJ factor, IM as a character is more relatable than Wonder Woman and easier to adapt than other characters too. Regarding popularity, the Hulk as a character is more popular than WW, Flash and Green Lantern, that's why he has more cartoons, series, movies, sells more toys and merchandise, just the way it is.
Just wanted to post this here from the Superman thread, from the Man of Steel Prequel comic:
