What ElMayimbe is saying now (I just went to his Twitter page) is that Superman on his own is not enough to take on Avengers 2 and Star Wars and that is the motivation WB have for making JL.

Nothing can compete with Star Wars. Nothing. It's the most popular, most well known and most lucrative entertainment franchise of all time. You can bet Episode 7 will break every record out there when it comes out. Doesn't matter if you have a JL movie or not you can't compete with that.

Also WB would delay Batman solo films for the next decade so Bale could come back?
