My problem is when people get so wrapped up in the mythical aspects of it all that they forget about the humanity.
And I'm not knocking people for how they interpret these characters. They mean something specific to everyone. But as an example there are people out there that can't picture Bruce and Diana going to the Kent farm for dinner. I'm thinking wtf?
It just happened last week in Trinity #1. In the Timm verse Clark and Bruce would meet up at Mom & Pop Diners to shoot the **** all the time. Even in the maligned New 52 Clark and Diana would date as civilians. And this is just Post Crisis. I can only imagine the "human silliness" that went down in the Silver Age.
Like you said idiot, at heart Clark is a blue collar farm boy. He's a foreigner raised in the US. These are things that we relate to. There is enough time in a 2 hour movie to be in awe of the JL's epic feats and also to think "damn, they're just like me, but on a grander scale."
