Snyders doing JL part 2?

Please tell me that isn't true. I was under the impression he was gone after this one.

Despite what The Hollywood Reporter article implies, Snyder coming back is not a done deal until WB brings him back. That's not the way things work in Hollywood, the box office performance of Justice League will matter. And of course we do not have that data yet.

Considering they gave Ayer another job, if JL meets BO expectations, everything is possible.

Ayer's movie either performed to expectations or overperformed because it wasn't even released in China and it had a better multiplier than Captain America Civil War.

I didn't want them to bring him back, especially not for a film exclusively starring women, but it makes sense that they would bring him back. More sense than giving Snyder as many chances as he has when every single big movie of his not named 300 has underperformed.

According to Mark Hughes :

"JL2 was cancelled because the existing version of it was going to be a direct sequel to Part 1, and it would’ve been a two-part story that cost a huge amount of money and (nearly) back-to-back filming. When BvS underperformed, WB simply wasn’t going to take the risk of investing in two connected films like that, they wanted a single film that could stand on its own, so they could wait and see how well it performs before committing to a sequel. They’ll make a sequel, the question is simply when and how directly it ties into the first JL movie."

So whether Zack Snyder comes back for JL2 depends on how JL performs reception and BO wise, and whether he wants to come back. Regardless I think JL2 is pretty far out, so its pretty futile to talk about it now.

If his Last Photograph film goes well, I'd expect ZS to maybe step back willingly. If people become interested in Snyder the Director outside of the CBM genre, he'd have the ability to expand creatively, and it makes sense that he'd want to at this point.

Possible. I mean ofcourse he is a big comicbook fan and loves making these movies, but if he feels he told the story he wanted to tell and was satisfied with it, I can see him stepping back from the director's chair and moving into more of a producer-overseer role or maybe moving completely away into other projects like Nolan.
