I've watched Justice League Action. I kind of hated it. Wonder Woman's characterization is THE WORST.

I watched the first couple of episodes, my feeling was "erm...ok, I guess??"; nowhere near as bad as I thought it would be, but nowhere near as good as previous animated shows.

And yeah, what's with Wonder Woman's characterization?? Are they trying to make her into a "sassy girl" or something??

Also, are bad puns and super cheesy one-liners a requirement for a "kid's show"?? Definitely the fastest way to kill an kickass action sequence.

Fair enough, I didn't notice anything off. I thought the cab episode was witty.

Same here, though, I have watched a few episodes here and there to get familiar. I have the first season of Superman:TAS on DVD I bought not too long ago and plan to really get a good grasp in how Supes was handled. I heard he was always second fiddle to Batman in an animated series way so that was always off-putting but in the grand scheme of things, I want to get to know him in TAS since I've heard a lot of good things.

Never got into Smallville, either. Those long running television series go off the deep end way too much and is the kind of soap opera that dries up quick. I got Season 1 of Smallville on DVD as well yet to be spun, so I'll go ahead and give that a spin and probably leave it at that when it comes to Smallville. I do plan on gathering up much of the animation side of things, though regardless. I'm always slow gravitating towards animation. My stomach is totally full from the Fleischer cartoons. Those remain an ahead-of-its time rendition of that era and will always be my favorite. My apetite for the Fleischer cartoons cover a lot of bases for this Supes fan, but even if I dislike something regarding Supes, I'll always give things a try atleast once.

Those Fleischer cartoons were simply glorious :hmr::ilv:

I would definitely recommend Superman TAS, as little as I remember of it, Supes was a badass, and it had what I consider the perfect balance when it comes to Clark/Supes, not a "boy scout", but a good man striving to do the right thing, while still having very human emotions.

Smallville I could never get behind...matter of fact, I tried and I tried, and the most I did, the most I hated the show; I loved Jonathan Kent and the Luthors, but everything else I found terrible about, particularly Tom Welling, but I know a lot of people around here love the show, to great for them!

It actually gets better. Puns annoyed me to no end as well but it gets better. Some episodes are really quite good.

Come on, Lobo calling Hawkman a chicken nugget was priceless.

When Lobo does it it's alright, because he's Lobo, it fits his character...

I'll watch the show anyways, I've seen the first 4 or 5 episodes, and I don't find it terrible, but now that I restarted Superman TAS the difference between the approaches is abysmal...it's just a little more "kiddy like" than what I usually enjoy, but it's a great way to get new generations into these characters, just like we were introduced to them when we were kids.

I rewatched Magnificent 7 remake.

I will take a fun paper thin character film like that. :oldrazz:

Featuring Doomsday in BvS did disappoint, for one, you didn't expect Doomsday's involvement would be about the death of Superman, most of us thought this was a tease for a later film featuring the death of Superman, but no, Snyder actually did it that early.

It was disappointing in itself too. The trinity battled Doomsday, rather than it being Superman's fight. His suit didn't tear or rip apart from battling. We didn't get a proper comic book homage shot of lois holding a dying Superman in her arms. (But we got a Frank Miller comic book cover shot)

It's safe to say we won't get the proper Return of Superman story either, that would have featured the reign of Supermen. Missed opportunity. I get the feeling that maybe Superman won't even come back wearing the black suit with long hair for a short while before donning the red and blue suit again.

I am morbidly curious, but can't force myself to do so.

Not gonna lie, I can perfectly watch and enjoy a "meh" movie if it has entertaining and charismatic characters/actors, and I love me some Chris Pratt, Denzel and Vincent D'Onofrio, so I might watch that movie again soon...

Don't kid yourself. The black suit is happening. Thank Dan Jurgens for making it popular this year with Superman L&C mini.

True. Also I don't really agree about Wonder Woman. Mostly because I've seen my share of peaceful/reserved/deeply compassionate/a little naive/adorably out of touch with modern society Wonder Woman. DCAU Wonder Woman was arguably my least favorite JL member on the show. I don't mind her being more "sassy" or "impulsive" or whatever her depiction in JLA is supposed to be. In fact she kind of reminds of Shayera a bit.

I agree that they killed him off too soon. Never expected them to do the Reign storyline, no matter when they killed him off (or at least not a direct adaptation of that storyline).

As for JLAction...I like it. The DCEU movies have been generally disappointing, but they always have the better cartoons of "the big two".

No no....don't.....don't engage him Kal....

I have George Michael - Careless Whisper on replay (rip George)

Anyway, that song is even more tragic if you imagine it is Snyder singing the song (like i do), before they made him change the tone etc.

I'm never gonnadance again

Guilty feet have got no rhythm

Though it's easy to pretend

I know you're not a fool

I should have known better than to cheat a friend

And waste a chance that I've been given

So I'm never gonna dance again

The way I danced with you

There is hot rumor that "DC Films Special" will air in mid January.

They will have these things in the special
1- A full Justice League trailer.
2- Wonder Woman behind the scenes look.
3- Aquaman casting news and concept art.
4- The Batman casting news.
5- New Flash director announcement.
6- Man of Steel 2 announcement.
7- New movie slate

Sounds legit.

You misspelled "fake."

Damn, Brando was a total Hal Jordan material. And this must have been before Jordan was even created.

Damn, you're right! Alright, quick game! JL rooster with classic movie stars...

GO!!
