Justice League questions

It's surprised Supes before. I'll agree he should have noticed sooner, but then again, he was away for five years. Either way, I didn't care so much.
id be willing to look past him not noticing the kryptonite, but i refuse to let pass the fact that he lifted up a kryptonite island while he had a shard of kryptonite embedded in his side...

It was shown that it was not completely composed of Kryptonite, and he was powered by the sun.

ooooo he flew higher up? he shouldnt have been able to fly! he had a shard of kryptonite in his side!
and what else was it composed of? lex stated that the crystal replicates whatever mineral it is in contact with when exposed to water... in this case it was wrapped in a kryptonite cylander... what else could it have been?

The sun was hitting him while he was losing power to the Kryptonite, too. It was overcast, but sunlight was still hitting him. You can tell because you can still see things on the screen at that point, and there are no other light sources.

Well, you can see the island, and it's obvious it isn't all composed of Kryptonite, otherwise it'd be one big hunking green island. Also, a little force of will has gotten Supes very far against Kryptonite before.

lets say that rock was 50% kryptonite... i dont care how much force of will he has in him, he has kryptonite embedded in him so he should be dead to begin with, but even so, that ALOT of kryptonite even if its only like 40%...

Eh, he's doing it for Aunt May. That's my explanation, and I'm sticking with it.

believe me, i wanted to like that movie. i really, really did... im surprised singer didnt have aunt may in that movie... alot more things would have made sense...

Meh, I thought it was a very good Superman movie, but lacked (albeit still pretty fun) as a movie about Superman, if that makes any sense.

Either way, this is getting kinda off-topic...

Actually, seth, you're using pre-Crisis logic. Post-Crisis on Infinite Earths, Kryptonite is not as effective against Superman. It would take days of green k exposure to kill Superman, but the immediate effects of it wouldn't be much beyond making Superman nauseous and not as overwhelmingly powerful. Not ot mention, he was out of the Earth's atmosphere when he threw the island, and it can be argued that he was absorbing much more sunlight than he would normally be.

I would have preferred an actual fight to island throwing, myself, but que sera.

and i would have prefered a good movie where superman isnt a stalker...

I like every bodies comments about what I said earlier. Sure, there are shows that shouldn't be on, but Smallville, deny it all you want, is still one of the best shows on. Greatest? Probably not. But you guys don't give it enough credit. But seriously, I'll change my mind when one or more of you guys writes and creates a phenomenon show and makes alot of money from it. Maybe some of you are old school, and don't like the alternate reality that Smallville is.

look dude, im not a writer, nor do i claim to be... but i do claim to know the differance between blatent garbage and fun entertainment... seasons 1-3 i was a fanatic... season 4 killed that... and it killed it good... theres a differance between being oldschool and being able to say "this is crap"

and unfortunately everything after season 3 has been crap...
ok it was cute to have lois in an episode or 2, but we dont need her on the show full time
or lana dating lex
or pa kent dead just because donner said so...
alot of liberties they took, i looked past or enjoyed, but now its just turned from liberties to blatent disregard to the source material...

Water has minerals in it as well as the bottom of the sea floor.

a)i doubt it made it to the sea floor
b)i doubt the concentration of minerals in contact with the crystal was greater than the kryptonite cylander...

Hes not dead beat, he didn't know. If he wasn't going to say good-bye to Lois, doi you thikn he would x-ray her? No. I do agree that some things in S5 were not the greatest. Lana dating Lex being the worst one. At least Jonathan went out like a hero though, instead of a heart attack, in critical condition for 38 minutes, and then he just dies. I agree about the Lois thing, although I like the character, she should only be in like 2 or 3 episodes per season. My guess is Clark will be a drok like Reeve in the old movies. Hopefully that won't happen.

Pre-Crisis kryptonite didn't affect Supermans powers at all. It acted like a poison but all powers were at undiminished strength till the end. Kryptonite bullets for example would not penetrate his skin.
