So what do my fellow Hypesters think of the possibility of the Pittsburgh Penguins being moved to Kansas City?

As a born and raised Pittsburgh fan it would break my heart to see my beloved Pens go. Ravenstahl needs to make a decent offer that can compete with K.C.'s (Which is admittedly pretty good) to keep them in town. In fact, the Pens need to just be sold to Mark Cuban...the Pirates too while we're at it.

Call it the Kansas City Totos :up:

The Penguins are the team of the greatest player in the history of the NHL...Mario Lemuix. There is just so much history there, it is shocking the way they are just so willing to up and move :(

Whats the reason for the move?

Pittsburgh is being cheap and won't help foot the bill for the arena. K.C. is offering them a brand new arena and they don't even have to pay rent. It is a tempting offer.

Hockey was so great in Pittsburgh in the early 90's. They were always a joy to watch. Are the fans supporting the team there any longer? Everything seems to be in flux.

If the team does move I am all for them becoming the Kansas City Scouts, a nice tribute to the past.

*cough*Yzerman*cough*

He doesn't even crack the top ten.

As far as the Penquins coming to KC. Well as much as I like to see them stay in Pittsburg for history's sake, I also want an NHL Hockey in my hometown. I live about 30 mins from where they'd play. The Pittsburg Penguins are the best choice; they are already a winning team and have the two up and coming stars. Like Matt said, the deal is pretty sweet, they basically buy into be part of the management group for the Sprint Center. This means they never pay rent and will get a share of any profits that come from the Center, even non-hockey profits. As for the name, it will change. The NHL has a history of changing team names when they relocate and KC has had a NHL team before, called the Scouts.

Here's to the Kansas City Scouts. :up:

That list is wrong. Hasek is ahead of Yzerman.

:whatever::down

Lemuix > everyone. If he got to play a full, uninterrupted career he would've broken practically every record.

I'm disagreeing with the Yzerman/Hasek part.
