Fried chicken has no business being on the same plate as a belgium waffle. People who eat them together are sick i dont get this fad. Keep them separate i say. That is all

What food they can mash together to fit in their mouths is whatever to me. I'm more grossed out by the people who drink while they still have that food in their mouths.

Is it really good? I'm actually in the mood to try some whenever the chance appears.

    Yes.

A healthy alternative being grilled chicken, whole wheat waffles with sliced strawberries on top.

    Mmmm, yum.

"Fad"? This is nothing new...I first heard about it in the 90's thanks to rappers mentioning "Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles", but it's older than that.

I like to drench my waffles in maple syrup so I tend to keep my other food items away from them as maple syrup does not go with everything.

I honestly don't think I've ever heard of this combination...or at least have never had it together. I guess it is a brunch thing like steak and eggs?

I heart chicken and waffles. Too bad there's no place to get soul food in Toronto, or upstate New York for that matter.

The northernmost soul food restaurant I've ever been to was in Portland, Oregon. :) That was the real deal: mushy mashed sweet potatoes, collard greens boiled until they become green slime, that was awesome.

I've only had it once at Gladys Knight's Chicken And Waffles, I wasn't impressed. Since it's a chain it may have been just this location that sucked (the location is now closed), when I head to Atlanta next month I'll have to try it at its original location.

How do you eat chicken and waffles? Do you tear off strips of chicken and strips of waffle, wrapping the waffle around the chicken?

There's a soul food kitchen I saw on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives w/ Guy on the food network. Not sure what part of NY its in but check out WWW.foodnetwork.com and they have all the locations he goes to on his part of the website
