I just watched an interview with Chloe and she said the character was 11, which is about as official as it gets. I have just as big a problem with 4 years as 5, but like I said before, I believe the filmmakers will just quiety pretend that she wasn't 11 years old in the last film.

They say she's 11 a few times in the movie. Dude you need to let it go. That was a 2 minute teaser to a probably 140 minute movie. They'll no doubt explain what happened since the last movie. Maybe they both quit for a while and then decided to come back. Nobody knows because no one has seen the movie yet.

Yeah, but since she had a birthday and was entering junior high, I still say she was 11 at the beginning and 12 by the end. It's not like they'd specify the 2 ages in interviews. They'd just pick one age and go with it, and Chloe herself was 11, so it made sense to stick with that one. But either way, it's nitpicking. We don't know what year Dave was in to begin with, he seemed like a terrible student, and we know he missed months of school. I have no problem with him just now graduating, right as Hit-Girl's entering high school.

Yeah, I mean..Dave missed months because Kick-Ass, and getting his ass...well, kicked. Also, wasn't it said somewhere Dave was leaving HS? Or something like that.

Those posters are great. The trailer is starting to really grow on me. The only down side is the green screen, which might look better at release anyway. Im really liking how the action is being shot.

By the way, because of this trailer, I went out and bought the Hit-Girl graphic novel and just finished it this afternoon. Perhaps it is because of diminished expectations from the weakness that was Kick-Ass 2, but I really enjoyed it. While Mindy didn't have as many great verbal zingers as she does in KA2 (I hope they keep most of the dialogue Millar gave her in that), it is still much better written. Because Millar isn't so focused on shocking and offending readers with scenes of gang rape and child murder this time--mostly because KA2 told his main plot--HG is just a simple character study of Mindy and how she adjusts to high school(?) life with Dave. Her whacking mobsters is just to give HG something to do and as such, it feels more comic booky and also more organic. Mindy and Dave in short feel just as interesting, if not moreso, than they did in the first KA graphic novel.

The first book is still the best because Millar had a strong story and characters in that one, but this was a return to form. That said, I do not know how much will make it into Wadlow's movie. It looks like her Ferris Buller motorcycle sequence will be in it and maybe some of the mean girls bullying. I do hope they keep her revenge. Also, I know it will not make it into the movie, but Chris's "training" in Asia is hilarious stuff. It also humanizes him some which will be desperately needed before the end.

    Just some thoughts.

    I wonder if
hit girl gets arrested at the end too.

Something else this movie needs is a (no pun intended) kick-ass soundtrack. Not just a great score, but a great soundtrack.

In the trailer Hit Girl says " my daddy made me promise to protect the city",I always that they were just about revenge, at least Big Daddy was.

I also picked up the Hit Girl graphic novel, its much better than Kick Ass 2. I dont think the film will end like the book, since there is no promise of a part 3.

Like others here, I just picked up the Hit-Girl comic as well. I never read KA2 because I've only heard horrible things so I don't know how it compares, but I found HG to be quite enjoyable. While I know it's not enough to base a whole movie off of, I'd be perfectly happy if a large part of this movie came from that.

And I too would love to see them keep Chris' "training" segments in there, however unlikely that may be.

With that shot of the cop car exploding up into the air it seems that is part of the neighborhood scene from the book. I really hope they show just exactly how much Chris just absolutely loses his **** in this. That's one thing I loved about the book, he just goes completely guano. The first time I read it I hated him changing his name to The Mother****er but in the trailer I just love that shot of him saying it. Idgaf I think this movie is gonna be GREAT just like the first

I haven't read the second book (or the Hit-Girl comics) but I know it's violent as **** and I hope they don't tone down the violence too much.

It is more in line with the comic book BD & HG, because in that he is just a gun nut loon fanboy who is living his awful fantasies and warping Mindy's mind along the way. In the movie, it is actually revenge. I will be interested to see how they reconcile that.

I am actually fine with KA2's ending. I just think the way it built to that ending was a bit lazy and full of horrible scenes for shock value's sake. Just from the trailer, I can tell the movie will improve upon that. Especially as it is pulling Mindy's arc from the Hit-Girl graphic novel about mean girls into it which gives her more to do. HOwever, that does not mean it will compare well to the first film.

Also, I hope they take from the HG GN the following scenes [blackout]Mindy getting a hallucinatory but creepy/sweet pep talk from Ghost Big Daddy before going on a killing spree, Mindy racing via motorcycle Marcus home, a scene of Mindy giving Dave **** when he asks why he's her sidekick--"Don't even ****ing go there. They might as well call you Hit-Boy"--and the scene with the mean girl on the school's roof.[/blackout]

    Those bits would be great.

I'm wondering if we'll get the part where in the big battle Kick-Ass and Mother****er just bicker back and forth before one of them ever throws a punch. I like how it shows that despite it all, they're still just a couple of geeks.

Maybe. I'm hoping we get that moment where dave finally goes badass for once and beats the crap out of Chris after everything he's done.
(I'm glad the rape scene didn't make it, but i'm sure he'll do other horrible things, and Dave's dad dying obviously made the cut.)

Where did you read this? I do hope it's true though. That along with the child murder were two spots where it really felt like violence for shock's sake. The child murder is DEFINITELY 120% not going to be in the movie, but where did you hear about the rape?

Well, I didn't read that it didn't make the cut persay, but Fonseca said her role was considerably less than the first movie, and I forget where, but I remember I read they toned down the unnecessary violence in the neighborhood scene.

    Thanks for the links

That made me very happy. Looks like, as was the case with the first film, it'll be a significant improvement over the comic.

Christopher Mintz-Plasse actually directly said the [blackout]rape scene[/blackout] is not in it. Here are his exact words:

The rape scene is not in it. There’s a version of it but there’s no rape. Thank God.
    http://screenrant.com/kick-ass-2-movie-rape-scene-johnh-187659/

The fact that he says there's [blackout]a version of it but no rape[/blackout] coupled with [blackout]Fonseca's[/blackout] comments and busy schedule, leads me to believe that [blackout]the neighborhood massacre remains largely intact, and Katie is killed, not raped[/blackout].

Well apparently I'm flying to the UK in July now. I hate when a movie is released somewhere earlier than where I live. Like you said it's hard not to read/see images from the movie.

Also on the age talk above. We've said Dave might've got held back for missing so much time, but isn't his friend with him in the school shot? They both probably wouldn't have been held back. But what if Hit-Girl was moved up due to being more advanced than kids her age. It happened in my school. A kid who was suppose to be in 7th grade was in 9th grade. I personally don't care what/if they do anything to explain the time gap.
