Kid Nation....Put It On Your Watch List!

All-New Kid Nation Tonight!

The host Jonathan is on one of the local morning radio shows right now, and he's been fantastically honest about the goings on of the show!

Tidbits I caught from the radio interview this morning:

Jonathan just described Greg as a "loose canon" who changes his attitude at the drop of a hat, insinuating that he was hard to control, and not necessarily as deserving of the award. :wow:

He also said that they had NO IDEA WHATSOEVER that Taylor would turn into the "witch" that she has!?! He said she's very respectful to adults, but does not respond well to any sort of child authority. They then kidded that he hasn't met her parents, but he can only imagine how they've raised her. :woot:

Jonathan said there would be over 50 crew members behind the scenes at any given time, but like any well-produced show, the kids VERY SOON forgot they were even there, and went about doing their own thing, becoming oblivious to cameras, etc...

Finally, they're still crossing their fingers for more seasons to continue, but no word yet. Ratings have slowly climbed, but CBS has yet to announce anything.

Jonathan was also a producer of the post-Katrina Extreme Home Makeover, and has won some prestigious documentary awards....Very cool.

Very good interview. Very cool guy in Jonathan. Sounds like a smart and level-headed guy, especially for TV.

Nice good info there Prog. Even if Greg is a loose cannon, eventually he would have been deserving of the star just on how much the other kids end up relying on him for certain things. Taylors parents raised her?? I was under the impression they just groomed her for pagents, you know almost like a show dog.

Well I thought Greg show character last night but the best line of all was from one of the winning teams kids(cannot recall his name sadly only that he was 10)

Said with mouth covered in it.....when asked how they did so well.

Well I like sugar :) was pure gold

Watching episode 7 now... How does Jared survive... he seems lucid, but then he says something that makes you think he'd walk off a cliff while trying to cross a ravine. It's incredible...

What a great episode. Another re-election? I can confidently say Guylan, Anjay, and Zach are going to be replaced. Not sure about Laural going up against Michael. But another entertaining episode.

Laurel is a great person all around, she lives and breathes off of student council, and I don't see Michael being able to turn a veteran politiker around, especially one who is genuine so often.

And why does Jared know full spiels of Hamlet? Hamlet? 11 years old? For real?

Yes I agree but she was wrong to not try to absorb a weaker member into the green group and try to help some of the weaker groups by adding one of the green teams stronger members.
This is why I think Michael is running against her but I doubt he will win.

Overall last nights episode was another strong one and throughly enjoyable.

They need to go back to winning the prizes for the town though, otherwise there's going to be some really cranky kids soon. The green team should have definitely given up and taken on a new member, the other counsel members should have over ruled her on that one.

Yep and most the teams tried hard to win the prize last night it was just a bit much for kids that age to do.
Green had the best approach with fill it till we cannot move it then remove rocks till we can.
It was hysterical when Guylan accused them of not trying to win the town prize when they did in fact carry as much as they possibly could.
At least green and red did I think Yellow and blue could have taken a bit more but not enough for them to win the prize though.

Yeah who ever designed last night's challenge set the bar a little too high on that one. I mean even the team that loaded the most they could and took their time didn't get up to 500 lbs. But Blue could have gotten them a little closer, I mean they went through that course pretty fast.

Is that, that little Oriental kid? He does seem a little odd.

No, not Alex (the little oriental kid that ALWAYS wears sunglasses. ALWAYS.), I'm talking about Jared, he's jewish, he's always wearing a hat and usually the bandana with the hat. Additionally, he gets interviewed almost every episode, and recited Hamlet at the talent show.

THAT is an odd kid. He seems smart, and has a great vocabulary, but he also seems like he lives in another plane of reality sometimes.

The re-election should be interesting. Especially the fact that the kid who runs the Yellow team more than likely chose the person that will defeat him. Simply cool.

I agree and think its going to be an excellent episode.

wonder if they will win the town prize any bets...:woot:

i keep hoping for these kids to collapse under pressure but they seem to be doing ok .

So, Sophia is the sheriff. *inserts peverted handcuff statement here*.

The video games they won were pretty old. With exception of DDR. They had Joust, & Gauntlet there! I tore Gauntlet up back in the day. That was like the the first Co-op awesomeness. That game would bring 4 complete strangers together in a arcade.

Taylor's antics were funny in the beginning, now they are just getting old.:whatever:

The only time I've ever seen anything from Kid Nation is when they make fun of it on The Soup. Hilarious.:o

Well the show is over.

I am going to miss Laurel's New England accent. Thank god Taylor didn't get a gold star. Thank god Zak did get a gold star.

All in all this show was interesting, but it wasn't as good as I think it could have been. I really feel the whole entire show was scripted. There were things that were set up that, & dialogue that was spoken that was just way to contrived.

Still, decent show.

That's pretty much exactly my feeling. It could have been a lot better than it was. Certainly it could have been a little more realistic and a little less hokey, but it wasn't bad. It will be interesting to see how much they change it for the next one. I was a little bummed out that Mike didn't win one of the last stars but it's all good.

Still a decent show indeed.
