Saw the movie but didn't get to listen to the commentary since it was a rental. What specifically was so funny and insane about it?

Did anyone actually count the number of names Kilmer dropped? (For those who haven't heard it yet, he challenges the listener to count the number of famous names he mentions as acquaintances and email it to his website for a prize that I have since forgotten.)
