Knight Rider movie news!

I think it will need a futuristic look.....while still not being too Spacey...it's a tough thing to pull off, I think. But, it better be Jet Black.....and not that red **** they pulled on us in KNIGHT RIDER 2000.......
I think it should be a car that´s in production, it´s supposed to be a cool car, but not to call too much attention. But yeah, black all the way.

My hubby things they should use the Mustang

Yeah, I think the Mustang could work too, not only cuz it´s a classic, but also because it combines sporty and robust looks, which I think is important for KITT. I don´t think it should have that "drip of water" look that´s typical of "futuristic" cars.

That's the thing about the original car. It looked cool, and recognizable to people. But, it didn't look like it came from space. Looked like a modded car, and not a completely different car made from scratch.

Well.....might depend on who plays Michael. I mean, if you want some specific type of chemistry, it might be something that goes into that.

I'm thinking that Jennifer Morrison, from HOUSE. She's hot, but can easily play the smart female role I think.

you know Chevy has a heavy marketing tie-in in the new Transformers movie with the new Camaro coming out (the car will actually debut in the movie, if I remember correctly) and I remember hearing rumors that if all goes well GM will allow Pontiac to bring back the Firebird/Trans Am back in '08. Sounds a little too good to be true, don't it??? Let's hope GM doesn't miss the mark like Dodge did with The Dukes of Hazzard. Bring back the T/A along with KITT!!!

That would be a cool tie-in, but it´d have to be a new version.

A little curious fact about the show... Legend says, the idea came up when network execs were discussing how hard it was to find good-looking guys who could act, and some exec apparently proposed a show called "Six-word man", which would have a leading guy who´d actually only say about six lines in the show and something like a car would do most of the talking...

It´s also interesting that the show actually introduced a lot of stuff in the way of car technology that´s now commonplace, like onboard computers and LED messages. Some cars actually "speak" up to thirty sentences, there are prototypes that are pretty much capable of driving themselves and cars with bulletproof blindage are becoming more and more used in cities with high crime rate.

Do you think a black man could be cast as Micheal Knight?

(It worked for Kingpin in the Daredevil movie - and I honestly didn't think it would)

You would have to change Wilton Knight to a black billionaire.

I'd like to see (hear) Apollo 440 do the theme song. They were the best thing about the Lost in Space, and I reckon they could really beef up the classic theme.

really nice poster though, i really like the car

Like someone said, Wilton Knight would have to be black too to keep the origin story, since he rebuild´s Michael´s face based on his son. I wouldn´t have a problem, as long as the actor gets the part right, I wouldn´t want them to do it just for PC sake.

So if you were directing KR the movie...would u go with a unknown or known actor for Mike Knight?

I think it´s more of a matter of who´s right for the part. If this was 10 or 15 years ago, believe it or not, I think Tom Cruise would have been right - see if Michael isn´t a lot like Maverick, c´mon - but right now, I´m not sure. Hasselhoff´s idea of getting Bloom sounded all wrong to me...

Personally, I'd love to see them use the Bugatti Veyron (obviously in black tho).

Fastest road car on the planet - able to hit to hit 60mph in 2.8sec and 100mph in an astonishing 5.5sec.

But there's not a hope in hell; it's too damned expensive.

The Veyron would make for one hell of K.I.T.T. Could you imagine if they did a Super Pursuit Mode* with that bad boy? Whoa.

*I know SPM was kinda cheesy in the show, but they could really make it cool in a movie. I'd want to see them include it in a KR film.

Especially in terms of doing jumps or ramming walls.

The whole idea of Knight Rider is that it is not the fastest car in the world. It is in fact a regular car that can go faster than any other car in the world. That's the appeal.

^^^

so really they could take another route and keep the original shell of the original car and update the interior... call it a classic car that can whoop the ass of every other car in the world.

Well, the Pontiac Firebird was supposed to be a sports car like the Corvette, for instance. It wasn´t a Focus.
