The biggest question is why MS didn't announce it at their keynote if it is already a done deal. It could very well be that they aren't allowed to say anything yet, or that the deal is still being negotiated, but if that's the case, then I would be a little pissed at the Konami exec that leaked it. By him giving info, but not allowing MS to actually follow up on it, it makes it look like MS screwed up and dropped a major announcement at E3.

I don't think anything is really set-in-stone yet. I'm sure if MS is offering Konami money just so it goes multiplat, that Konami will be more apt to port it. However, I think Sony is the only one willing to pay money for this title. After all, MGS isn't a big presense in Japan, and Halo has performed better time after time.

Because it's not a done deal. Konami are just putting it out there they they might port if the right money incentives, are presented by MS, or aren't presented by Sony.

Not what I read.
Sounds more like its something they have to consider to make up the loss of production costs.
In the end- the days of exclusive titles are coming to a close.Devs cant afford to develop for one console anymore,this isnt Nintendo/Sega nowadays.The basic principle of "break even vs turn a profit" takes on a whole new meaning in a billion dollar industry

Actually Jack Tretton was the one saying that. Kojima didn't touch on the issue but DID say he'd be at the PS3 show in a few days.

A new Metal Gear Solid 4 trailer that was shown revealed it'll be out early 2008 with a worldwide simultaneous release.

simultaneously worldwide? or simultaneous release on multiple systems?

who knows......

now is Kojima retiring from gaming all together or just metal gear? either way it sucks but I can understand him wanting to do something different

Simulaneously worldwide. Not on multiple consoles. If it happens the Xbox 360 version isn't going be released the same time as the Playstation 3 version. Also it's been reconfirmed as a Playstation 3 exclusive....AGAIN!

And judging from the more recent news report, it seems that Kituae said it because he really wants it on the Xbox 360 and it trying hard to get Kojima to do it. But Kojima downright refuses to port it, mostly because the purpose of Kojima Productions is to make games exclusive ot the platform they're developed for and he sees Metal Gear Solid as a Playstation series.

Metal Gear. I can see him being the producer for things such as the Metal Gear Solid 3: Digital Graphic Novel, another Portable Ops game, and hopefully remakes of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake. But as for furthering the franchise, like Metal Gear Solid 5, he's ending it right there and then. He wants to move onto other games, make games for the Wii, Xbox 360, and the PC.

And seriously the only way he will be able to get fans off his back about directing yet another Metal Gear game is to well....end it.

I seriously think that Kojima is going to kill Snake in this game. He'll get the player to press the trigger just like he did with the boss and then skip straight to a cutscene of him laughing at us saying "Now I don't have to make another f**king Metal Gear game you f**kers! You think? I personally get the impression that on the first night the initial horde of closet-dwelling, mad-eyed MGS fanatics get done playing 4 he's going to have a harpoon going through his window.

What are you talking about? With the exception of the non-canonical Metal Gear game, EVERY SINGLE METAL GEAR has been an excellent game. No reason to think this one will be other wise. Anyway, I really hope we get MGS4 for Xbox!

It is confirmed that Kojima refuses to port Metal Gear Solid 4. He refuses to do multiplatform games. And he beleives that Metal Gear is a Playstation series. And if Metal Gear Solid 4 does get ported he will be pissed.

Rumors have it that if Metal Gear Solid 4 does get ported, it will be done by another team, Kojima Productions will have no involvement in the Xbox 360 version.

Also, do you honestly think that Sony isn't paying Konami for exclusitivity of this game. They aren't just going to simply let this one go like they did with Virtua Fighter 5, Devil May Cry 4, and Grand Theft Auto IV.
