Peter Jackson's King Kong is twice as long as the original. It's twice as long as it needs to be, and most of it is just padding.

Hmmmm....over-long Peter Jackson films....filled with padding....much longer than the original version....sounds familiar.

LEGENDARY PICTURES Panel Live! Godzilla 2 Confirmed!
Thomas Tull came back on stage to thank the panelists and to thank the fans who came, and to give them one more thing.

"I do want to say, del Toro posed a question, and I'll say, when he's done with Pacific Rim 2, we'll talk."

One more piece of footage was shown to close out the panel. It's a Skull Island teaser trailer, with King Kong featured last in the shot.

del Toro asked the audience two questions to answer to Legendary. "Number 1: Hellboy 3?" HUGE applause and cheers. "Number 2: The Mountains of Madness?" only slightly less cheers. "Okay, now it's *****ing over." and he left the stage.

This Kong looked more deadly compared to Peter Jackson's.

THR @ Comic-Con:
Legendary Sets King Kong Film 'Skull Island' for 2016
Aaron Couch said:
Legendary has set King Kong film Skull Island for November 4, 2016.

It announced the film with a surprise teaser at the very end of its Hall H Comic-Con panel. Footage of an ancient island flashed on screen, with a voice over comparing it to the very early days of the Earth. It was stormy, with lighting and glimpses of creatures.

"We penetrated deeper and deeper into the very heart of darkness."

Finally: the money shot. King Kong roaring and looking quite vicious. The crowd went ape. Legendary tweeted afterwards "Prepare to explore the mysterious and dangerous Skull Island. In theaters November 4, 2016."

In King Kong lore, Skull Island is the mysterious home of the giant ape. It was featured in the 1933 film King Kong and multiple subsequent films, including Peter Jackson's 2005 film.

Describe Kong to me.

I need to paint a mental picture.

Kong? Sweet. Will definitely see it in theaters.

I think a crossover with Godzilla isn't out of the question with them both at Legendary.

I was hoping for a movie about Candy Apple Island.

When Kong was shown, was he shown with anything that could give us an idea on how large he is?

They're clearly leading up to Godzilla vs. King Kong, but Kong would have to be massive to face off with Edwards's Godzilla.

Did he roll any barrels at a short Italian plumber?

King Kong 2005 was to long and the two Hobbit movies were boring.

but please let us not complain about the Kong design in Jacksons movie. thanks

If this new Kong looks anything like the classic one then I am going to **** a brick.

Regardless of size, Godzilla would decimate Kong with his atomic breath.

What was the footage like?! Damn, what a day... and it's only just begun for me.
