Sony Spin-Off Kraven The Hunter

It's going to flop regardless when they release it.

Unlike Aquaman 2 this is not a family movie, it's an R rated action flick, so I doubt this is going to help the film.

At least 1 person is excited for this :o

I'm not excited for it, I just want this Sony Spider-Man Universe to be over as soon as possible. I like that we might not be getting any Sony Marvel movie (aside from maybe Spider-Man) in 2025, hopefully in 2026 too.

Hmm. I would like to be surprised.

I forget this movie exists like as soon as I leave this thread.

This doesn't mean anything really. At one point, Madame Web's SJ Clarkson was tapped to direct Star Trek 4.

I know. I was actually surprised someone was optimistic, lol.

The director is talented, but I m still very skeptical.

I really want this movie to be good but Sony’s track record, plus the fact that the release date keeps changing, isn’t reassuring.

As I said elsewhere, can't wait for that 15% RT score! This movie is gonna suck

I just remembered that this was initially scheduled to come out around last fall.

They don't mention Marvel on the posters or those "from the studio that brought you... morbius".

I'm the same.

I like the trailer. In a vacuum its a 7/10 for me.

It's not the ideal scenario that we're getting these films from Sony, but since we are, we might as well hope for the best. They are never going to give up the film rights easily. Spider-Man is front and center on their 100th anniversary promo materials. With the current state of the industry and more M&A very likely on the horizon, having the Spider-Man film rights is a nice big negotiating chip to have in your pocket if Sony explores that down that road.

That Rino looked comic accurate! I'm stoked! Sony has a chance to course correct and pit this Kraven against Venom and/or Morbious and connect it's universe that way.

The trailer itself is fine but the constant quoting of Johnny Cash is obnoxious.

I can’t mock someone else’s physique but Aaron just doesn’t look like Kraven. He’s too small and his intimidating looks feel more pouty than scary.

I do again at least appreciate that, compared to Lionsgate and Borderlands, Sony is going in with the R-rating and not pulling back to be PG-13. They still should've done that with Venom: Let There Be Carnage first, though.

I've seen the usual suspects online critique the Rhino CGI (I just watched the dude in the wife beater on Youtube), and as expected, many have already made their minds up. Based on the history, being bad is the likely outcome with this unfortunately. That said, the difference with this vs. other entries like Morbius or Madame Web, is the legitimate pedigree of the director this time. I'm not expecting a masterpiece, but I am hopeful of a good time.
