Sony Spin-Off Kraven The Hunter

They were cynical cash grabs made to hold onto the Spider-Man rights, and a foolish attempt to try and replicate the shared universe model for a solo hero character like Spider-Man. **** these movies. They were made with the worst of intentions not the best of intentions.

Props to Sony for still holding out to their 2002 iiiisssh comic book formula of awfulness. Lol

Saw it last night, sure won't be seeing that movie again

How though? How do you connect a planet of dead symbiote to a Kraven movie?
I guess I wasn't clear, not tie Kraven directly to that art featuring Planet Symbiotes but toe Kraven to Venom after the events of VLTBC or even the first Venom.

After the events of Kraven they could have had him go to New York to "hunt" Venom and/or even Morbius. He finds out through the Daily Bugle/newspaper that there's a dark monster roaming NY/SF and/or investigate a series of bodies whose bodies were sucked dry and had fang marks on their necks.

Heck, a safer route would have been both Venom and Kraven going to NY to track down Morbius
Kraven mistakes Venom as Morbius and they duke it out with Kraven thinking Venom is the one responsible and adapt Last Hunt with Eddie being buried and the symbiote bonding with Kraven who then goes off after Morbius. The symbiote starts corrupting Kraven. Calypso or Toxin saves Eddie to help stop the symbiote Kraven because he's starting to feed off innocent and/or tag team against Morbius.

Just spitballing ideas. These movies could have been connected had Sony focused on doing what they had well without relying on MCU and/or another need of Holland Spidey.

I agree. Felt like lazy attempts to cash in on the spidey license. Seemed like they either didn't care about making quality movies or actively tried to override the filmmakers original vision.

Kraven and morbius in particular both felt like movies studio execs probably messed with in the edit.

I watched this on Netflix over the weekend.

Idk what i even watched. He has super sight? His brother was kidnapped? He commands animals? Made zero sense.

I was pleasantly surprised. I watched it last night.
It's by no means the best, but it's certainly not the worst, and it's better than morbius, the Marvel's, Dr strange MVOM, thor the dark world, the eternals.
It certainly deserved a better B.O.

Gripes.
The formula should have been explained better, how it worked, etc, and his weak brother going from a weakling to a supervillain at the end was kinda weird.
( did he have those powers the whole time?)
CG was iffy in spots as well.
Rhino was pretty meh.

Likes. I can see why kraven can go toe to toe with Spiderman. Especially this kraven.
He was pretty brutal.
ATJ was pretty good in the role.

Overall tho, I enjoyed it more than alot of marvel films. 6 and a half outta 10.

I haven’t seen the film. But, I do find it it impressive how completely
jacked up, ATJ was.
He obviously took the physical demands of the role very seriously.

It's entertaining enough. Middling. I've seen far far worse.

I wanted to see the film in theaters.
But, Sony was actually taking Kraven out of theaters. If the studio chooses not to support their own film..

I'm not convinced they were cynical. I believe they were downright foolish, idiotic, and dimwitted.

Apparently, Sony didn't want to go the simpler route of him just ingesting special herbs that gave him super abilities.

It would take an awful lot more than a couple of good films to win me personally over & get my cinema ticket money. They've done a hell of a lot of damage to not only their own universe building, but some of the characters present within them.

I think most people were uninterested in to disliked Madame Web, Morbius, Kraven (they probably like KLH but have cognitive dissonance about it and/or just think it would never work in live action/outside of comics) long before they were movies of them.
