I really must get the first two on DVD. Not even sure I've seen all the 2nd, but I really enjoyed the first one. Looking forward to the new one.

Tigress friend zones him. They only hint at romance between Po and Mei Mei.

Dang, i´ll have to wait until March to see it...

I'm seeing it next Saturday. This was based on Variety's review.

Just got back. Loved it. A bit similar to the second one, but more then enough fun and charm. Also, Po/Tigress still lives. :awesome:

This movie was everything I wanted. Visually it was spectacular. There were bits of the story that could have used a bit more time spent, but overall this film was absolutely magic.

No tearjerker moments? Everyone survives?

There are a lot of adorable "ah" moments, and a few "deeper" moments, but this is probably the least emotional of the three. There is a moment where Po "dies" and the Furious 5 outside of Tigress are captured. But yeah, everyone ends up surviving.

This was good, they clearly wanted to go lighter than what the second film was. Not my fave of the series but I'd recommend as a good time.

This was really good, but I still think I liked the second one the best.

My one major complaint, is that I would've liked about another 10 minutes to give a little more emphasis to the supporting characters. Mei Mei was really cool when she was introduced, but she sort of disappeared into the background after her first appearance.

But all the stuff with Po and his friends was touching. Jack Black nails this character very well.

Unfortunately, doesn't look like the film will be doing a ton of money here in the US:

It is headed to 40m opening weekend, in January. Pretty good I'd say.

I don't know which is my favorite of the three films, but there is one thing I truly do wish for. More of the Furious 5 and Shifu. I enjoy every bit of these films, but nothing more then when he is hanging out with them. Such great, but underused characters imo.

Not so good when you consider the first film opened with $60 million in 2008. No. 2 opened with $47 million and made a lot less domestically. Seemed to be on the bubble whether they made this one or not. They did take a lot longer.

I think what might help Dreamworks here though is that they outsourced a lot of the animation here to their overseas studios, so they probably saved some money that way.

Of course it opened to less, it opened in January as opposed to a holiday weekend last time. This film will live on its International box office, especially with China.

I also don't know how much of a cut of the Chinese box office they get because it is considered a "local" film. It also gets an extra month because of that.
