Kurt Sutter talks Punisher 2

Well now know for sure that he wrote the script. So, does this mean Stuart Beattie was never really involved with the script or did the two work together?

^ LOTN,

Rumor was Beattie only got 5 or so pages into his script and left the project. Whether he left on his own or was asked to leave is unknown to me.

Alright thanks. Haven't really been keeping up with all the news on this movie lately.

Now that's the news I like to read. Way to go AD

awe! So Stuart beattie jumped ship? Oh well, thanks for the news AD! You are the fing man!!!!

I have a feeling we'll be hearing alot more soon. :)

Especially with Tom Jane meeting w/LGF supposedly this past Monday. I think Tom is probably just as fed up as the fans about this project and I think things are beginning to iron out. I'm still betting this comes out in 2008.

Thanks for the update AD. keep pulling those strings man...

Awesome scoop AD!

So Stuart Beattie bailed on Punisher?

Sorry for the lapse...yeah I guess he bailed. Now it's a waiting game...

yet another waiting game, but zorro didnt get a sequel till like 7 years later so who knows.....

I just read in espn the magazine that Chuck Liddell (the UFC light heavyweight champion) wants to be or is involved with "Punisher II"

I could see Chuck as a 2nd tier henchman in this film but not as any lead.

Chuck Liddell in Punisher 2, OMG that would be so badass...I would like to see him as a henchmen who fights Frank, in a real brutal one on one fight.

"I'm interested in Hollywood," he says. "I'm trying to do Punisher II. I may get to play the villain's crazy brother. I'll probably start taking acting classes." --Chuck Liddell

Nice find, that probably means they are starting to cast for the movie and they're going with Kurt's script!:trans:

Is he going to play one of the Costa Brothers from The Costa Familly? He kind of resembles them. Maybe face wise. Body wise a question.

If Chuck ended up as a henchman or bodyguard type character, that would open up the door for a fantastic fight sequence, something I've been wanting to see in these movies for a damn long time. I was ecstatic when not a single jumping back kick was thrown in the first film . . . if Chuck lands a gig on this, could it be the second time a triangle choke has ever been used to finish a bad guy in an action movie (see: Lethal Weapon)?

That would be nine different kinds of awesome.

To be fair Frank did try a Triangle Choke on the Russian, but opted for the hot soup.

Ha! Yeah, you could look at it that way - I always thought he was just using the knee for separation, but if he was pretty flexible, the triangle could've gone on from there. Good point, dl!
