Are you serious? That's the way the Batman-Superman logo has looked for years. Come on now. :funny:

I won't disagree there. Though that was before the prospect of a shared DC Cinematic Universe existed. So if such a thing did exist back then, who knows what they would've thought.

Personally I don't feel he needs to be established any further, just as Batman doesn't need a new origin. People all over the world know who these characters are, why not just tell a damn good adventure story with them as the heroes? That's my issue with today's movies, everything needs mapping out, each detail needs establishing, hell if this happened in the 80's Raiders of the Lost Ark would be movie 3 lol.

As for how they have been portrayed together, I think people have posted several examples of where the dynamic has worked, I don't see any reason to imagine it wont here until I see something that gives me factual cause for concern.

According to the Man of Steel Facebook homepage. It is supposed to be announced today at CC. So if this is true, How do fans feel? I personally feel this is a dream come true. I feel this would be a huge step for WB and DC.

They have to, it makes no sense to establish Bruce Wayne's origins, when this isn't even a Batman film (not in the sense of say...Batman Begins for example).

The financial point is that Batman is coming off the back of two billion dollar movies and a team up would most likely be a much bigger hit than a MOS sequel.

It could be, though that logo obviously isn't official. It could've just been a way to say Batman going to be in the next Superman film. Though honestly with this occurring, why wouldn't you use that logo?

Was that pertaining to a World's Finest team up or Justice League?

superman can certainly carry his own franchise. the point is WB is looking at this from a financial standpoint. batman has grossed over 1 billion dollars his last two films.

what makes more money? MOS 2 or world's finest? the answer is plainly obvious.

MOS 2 could make a billion. Either way, this feels like we've been cheated.

And in regards to dynamics, I'm no fan of how Batman is portrayed as the better hero. I prefer that they be portrayed as equals and not rivals..and I certainly don't want them to be stuck in a love triangle together with Lois.

Not to mention, I still don't see why Superman couldn't be given at least ONE solo sequel first before going down this route.

    Exactly, totally agree here.

Plus it paves the way to Justice League.

Batman and Superman are portrayed as equals in a lot of stories. I see no reason to why that can't be the case here.

I guess that Dark Knight Returns monologue really frightened people. :lmao:

I wonder who the villains will be. Maybe Lex Luthor hires the Joker to take out Bruce Wayne while also creating Metallo to kill Supes...

You mean the examples of how, since Batman is the smarter one (which he is, I agree with that.lol) means that him being portrayed as the righteous better hero justifies on how Superman is never portrayed as being either better or equal as him?

The fact that Snyder used a quote from "The Dark Knight Returns" makes it even more worse since Superman was castrated in that book.

There are a lot of World's Finest comic books where the pair are equals. If they can focus on that, they'll be much better off.

If they focus on Timm's cartoon movie...oh boy.

Batman is paranoid by nature and will be suspicious of Superman at first. He's been preparing for such a confrontation since Zod appeared, so he will have a plan. Batman will be the antagonist at first, then they will team up against a common foe (I'm thinking Lex). WW cameo at the end to set up a Trinity movie.

Yep. I have no problem with MoS 2 being World's Finest instead. I'm a HUGE HUGE Superman fan but I want a DCCU where Superman can really shine too.

I'm tired of this sluggish pace WB has been working with, but I also didn't want them to rush into a JL movie. World's Finest (as us fans have been saying) is the perfect medium between going maddeningly slow vs recklessly fast. World's Finest allows for great character development while also beginning the shared universe in earnest.

World's Finest is like going 80mph on the highway while MoS 2 would be going 60 and Justice League would be going 100. 80 is the happy, safe, medium.

I can't really even fathom how they'd castrate the Superman we just saw in Man of Steel. This guy's a complete badass. They won't actually go head to head, because as Snyder has pointed out in interviews it's laughable to suggest it. Superman would have to give in willingly like with the U.S. military.

If anything, this will show how uneven the characters are.

WB made a Jonah Hex and Steel movie before WW or Flash. Think about that for a moment.

Although Batman didn't appear smart in the Nolan trilogy. Fox was smart with the technology. Batman rarely displayed any particular intelligence. Even Alfred displayed more intelligence.

Yeah, and then in Justice League they'll actually have to use that piece of kryptonite against him because he will be mind controlled or somehow corrupted because he's a weak minded knucklehead. Gah... I'm so annoyed and depressed about this, even more so because Goyer and Snyder are heading this. I do not think Batman and Superman should be fighting each other either, which sounds like what will happen with Snyder's Batman vs. Superman comment and that quote they used. Superman will just come off looking like a moron for losing. Yeah... I'm overreacting and ranting and raving and making crazy assumptions that hopefully won't come true. I just really don't see this being any good.

If their relationship is portrayed similar to how they did so in Public Enemies, minus Batman being the one to save the day (as usual), then I'd be happy about it. Honestly.

I want to see a film where they end on good terms with each other, respecting the other person, and without a love triangle ever having been involved in the equation.

And yeah, Timm's Cartoon of the World's Finest, along with "The Dark Knight Returns", if this film ends up being anything like those films, then it's safe to say that Superman is screwed and I'd have no problem giving up on the franchise personally.
