In the Poland review, I read where he commented on the lack of sexiness in the film. After I thought about that, I realized he has a point from the footage that we have seen. Bosworth is a sophisticated mom, Posey is hideous plus she is made even more foul by her attire in the film, and I truly hope there is no Ma Kent/Ben Hubbard make out sessions:eek:

And Ill also say that I have noticed that there is a lack of pure intimate moments in the film, ecspecially for what Singer says is his first chick flick. Ive seen Richard make Lois laugh and yet another flying scene, which hopefully ends up betetr than " Can You Read My Mind ". Thats it though. No prolonged make out sessions, no intimate hugs and holding of each other, nothing. It just feels extremely like a G rated romance.

Have you seen the film?

Anyway, nor was there any of that "sexiness" in the '78 Superman, and that didn't hurt the film in any way. In fact, I'd say the lack of that would benefit the movie, as it creates an underlying sexual tension much greater than any overt emotion.

I don't think Supes is about 'intimate moments'.
So this is quasi-good news to me.

Watch the Superman documentary, one of the biggest mistakes/issues they addressed for Superman 2 was Lois and Supes having sex in the fortress... It wasnt a favorable move and quite controversial with the fans in the end.

That being said, this movie is epic, timeless. Sexual content would definately cheapen it. If you want sexual content for ratings cheapening the Superman mythos, theres a show for you.

Im happy SR doesnt have that. Batman Begins didnt need it either to sell.

Katie Holmes certainly wasnt 'sexy' in Batman Begins and there were no sex scenes (to Bale's disapointment)....

The movie ROCKED regardless.

No I haven't seen the film. I really wish people would stop saying that everytime someone tries to bring up a f^cking point or share an opinion. I will say that I have followed the project since day one and read the novel so please, let me share a f^cking opinion without using that same rhetorical f^cking line time and time again.

Unnecessary IMO..and ohh BTW...Have you seen the movie? :p

Yes but this is a romantic film accoridng to Singer, his first chick flick. So some intimacy is required wouldn't you think.

As Kane said, the FOS sex romp did cause controversy as I remember reading about it. But that was 1980. I would truly like to think that people have grown up some since that time period.

I suppose it does need its share of romantic moments... but from what I've been hearing... the film isn't overloaded with action and lacking romantic or dramatic tension.
I think it'll be a good balance of the two.

;) I would think some of y'all would be happy there are very few intimate moments in SR. I thought the fact that SR would end up being a girly chick flick was one of the main concerns with some folks. As a girl who was hoping it had some serious romantic moments aside from flight scene (but knowing it wouldn't), I'm actually really disappointed:)

Read the novel, watched all the blogs and trailers, read reviews, basically been up the movie's ass since day one.

On that token I basically feel that my remark about intimacy in the movie is just.

Its not about growing up, its about the nature of the characters and the nature of the film.

There will be alot of deep intimate moments but Im certain we wont get sex scenes in a movie like this.

Did Spiderman have sex scenes? No.. and this film has about the same market appeal as the Spiderman films; trying to capture a similar audience.

I definately dont want that crap in my Superman film, it would certainly cheapen it and Ive already seen sexploitation make the Superman characters look like tools in other interpretations.

I want SR to be wholesome...and it is.

Wow, you know how to go overboard in a short amount of time without any provocation. :down

If you're tired of people asking if someone's seen the movie, I'm tired of people making judgments as if they have seen the movie. There's a few posters here that have a bad habit of doing that, one who shall remain nameless especially. Your statement came off like you'd seen the movie and I DIDN'T know you'd read the novel since you failed to mention that as evidence towards your point.

So once again, calm down.

Go find the thread about the upside down kiss. The scene where Lois and Superman are air dancing seems very intimate to me and we've only seen 2 seconds of it.

Me too..great read...it would make a really great movie...ohh wait :D

Great Scott!
If you can watch the "Will you come with me" and "Where did you go" clips and not recognize them as intimate romantic moments then your heart must be made of Kryptonite!

I think he wanted traditional sexploitation.

It wont happen.

This film IS WAY too classy for that.

Have you seen the movie? How do you know its great? Have you seen the movie? Then how could you possibly know? Have you seen the movie?

In all honesty, the novel was iffy. We will have to see how it translates to film, ecspecially Lex, his bad jokes, and goon squad. Really disappointed in what I read on Lex.

I don't want sexploitation, I wouldn't even want sex implied unless it was done in a classy way such as The Notebook. Thats right, I said The Notebook. I liked it, and Im not afraid to admit it lol:)

I wouldn't like sexual scenes (like in Daredevil or Burton's Batman) in Singer's Superman movies. It is unnecessary.

The whole SUperman franchise is about Kal-El and his destiny, also abot his humanity.

And being intimate with someone isn't a part of humanity?

Ew..

:down

Okay, that pretty much invalidated your opinions =P

If SR was done like The Notebook, that would be the worst piece of dreck and box office poison to ever hit theatres :down

Thank goodness that isnt the case.

I wonder where is the sexual moment in Spiderman LOL
The upside-down kiss was good for a Lizzie McGuire movie :D

I know.

Batman Begins = greatest comicbook superhero film so far....and it just had one kiss at the very end, thats all.

Worked fine.
