I'm going back to school and I need a decent laptop that can handle everything I need to do. I need something that can boot up quickly, load web and other programs well and has a good word processor. Any suggestions?

Hi,

I recommend buying one with at least 2-3GB but preferably 4GB of RAM, a Duel Core CPU and at least a 1,500MB graphics card display. Now if this sounds a little confusing, but it is really simple. At the store, you know how theres computers on display? Well this is what you do to check that stats - for every windows OS. Hold down the start key and press R or go to Start > In the search field type Run In the Run box type dxdiag From there read the RAM, CPU and click the display tab and look at Approximate Total memory.
If your looking for Games and School work at the same time, I say get a HP, TOSHIBA or Gateway because if you get a unpopular brand it will be hard to do repairs on it later. So yeah I usually look at only thos stats, and mostly all laptops now a days come with at least 250GB HDD so yeah you can buy one with 300 just make sure to check it though

Thanks
David

You should get a Compaq. It's pretty easy to use and it's durable.

Thanks guys. I will definitely take those suggestions under advisement

one time, i'm doing a satellite tv comparison between dish network and direct tv and then it came to my mind that i want to watch tv using my laptop. so, basically, i went to best buy and they recommend me to use an HP Pavilion. i can do everything with it like playing games, office, video conference, and watching tv.
