Dancing In The Street lyrics by MARTHA REEVES AND THE VANDELLAS

Watch It

Calling out around the world
Are you ready for a brand new beat
Summer's here and the time is right
For dancing in the street
They're dancing in Chicago
Down in New Orleans
Up in New York City
All we need is music, sweet music
There'll be music everywhere
There'll be swinging swaying records playing
Dancing in the street

Oh it doesn't matter what you wear
Just as long as you are there
So come on ev'ry guy grab a girl
Ev'rywhere around the world
They'll be dancing
They're dancing in the street

It's just an invitation across the nation
A chance for folks to meet
There'll be laughing, singing, music swinging
Dancing in the street
Philadelphia, PA
Baltimore and D.C. now
Can't forget the Motor City
All we need is music, sweet music
There'll be music everywhere
There'll be swinging, swaying, records playing
Dancing in the street

Oh it doesn't matter what you wear
Just as long as you are there
So come on ev'ry guy grab a girl
Ev'rywhere around the world

Dancing
They're dancing in the street
Way down in L.A.
Every day
Dancing in the street

Nipsey Russell owns all as the Tin-Man (The Wiz) :o

"If you don't have STP, Crisco will do just fine!"
"Don't turn the water on me -- JUST LET ME BURN."

Uh, it doesn't matter that this is the last day.
There's already a thread for this stuff.
Don't start getting uppity.

Where IS Kritish?
This isn't particularly about "black history", it's about ending black history month as it should - with a houseparty. So go be a little black rain cloud some place else, Miss Ann Thrope, ...k?

Thriller. Better than you remember :ninja:

CAPTAIN EO

Eo vs. the Evil Queen - "We Are Here to Change the World"

Here's what they're saying:
We’re on a mission
In the everlasting light that shines
A revelation
Of the truth in chapters of our minds

So long, bad times
We’re gonna shake it up and break it up
We’re sharing light brighter than the sun
Hello , good times
We’re here to simulate, eliminate
An’ congregate, illuminate

(we are here to change the world)
Gonna change the world, hee
(we are here to change the world)
Gonna change the world, ooo

So do surrender
’cause the power’s deep inside my soul
Sing it

(we are here to change the world)
Gonna change the world, sing it
(we are here to change the world)
Hee, gonna change the world, ooo

(we are here to change the world)
We’re gonna change the world, girl
(we are here to change the world)
My brothers my brother na
We’re gonna change the world
(we are here to change the world)
Hee, deep down in my body,
Deep down in my soul, baby
(we are here to change the world)
Hee, we’re gonna change the world

I had it as a bonus track on a Stevie Wonder tape. Yes, TAPE. I left it in the tape player during the summer here - it melted.
...And suddenly I'm crying with Stevie singing this mournful song :csad:
when i ask you to marry me vibe, this song will be on in the background.

and i won't be staring at your breasts and not listening to you as this red font would demonstrate

But if we play that great song at our wedding, people will come after us for ruining a classic. Kind of the way John Wayne Gacy ruined "Tears of a Clown" by calling it the song of his life. To this day I think they gave him DEATH instead of life imprisonment for tainting a classic.

No, sweets, we need something god-awful like Lionel Ritchie's Say You Say Me :hypelove::heart:
