Okay, I never heard of this show on Broadway, but Anna Kendrick's performance has got me interested in this movie.

This is one of my top 5 favorite musicals ever. Broke my heart into 10 million little pieces, and the music is gorgeous. But as soon as they announced this movie, I was wary because I just don't think it will translate well to a feature film. And that trailer has not convinced me otherwise.

That said, I'll see it opening day, lol.

I know the premise and just don't want to watch something to depress me. But, I think Anna Kendrick has a really decent voice and I'm familiar with Jeremy Jordan.

I think this will probably be a Netflix because I was impressed with her.

It has Anna Kendrick singing, I'll probably watch it. Question though, what is so depressing about it?

Well if you watch the trailer you can pretty much see how it begins with the ending.

So what, a break up? I was a expecting something a little more traumatic.

I don't think it's spoilery to tell you the basic premise, which is that it's the story of a 5 year relationship told from two different perspectives: her story is told backwards from the end, and his is told from the beginning. And their perspectives only intersect in the middle on their wedding day.

Blue Valentine kinda reminded me of this show, actually. But it's not as depressing as that movie, at least.

I see. The only thing that seems to be really depressing to me is that someone would break up with Anna Kendrick. :o

Thought the trailer was excellent. I still don't like Jeremy Jordan in anything, but Kendrick has yet to disappoint me since CAMP.

Well, heartbreak can be pretty depressing. See again, Blue Valentine. That said, I found the musical to be more poignant and a little sad than "depressing."

Ha, her "Ladies Who Lunch" scene in CAMP is classic. Too bad all the videos of it on YT include the opening part with the cursing, or I'd totally be posting it here now. :woot:

i loved Camp. that's where i learned to appreciate Kendrick and Sasha Allen

i want to see this. i'm familiar with the plot, but i only know one song from this: I'm Still Hurting, which i adore. so i will be there.

when Pitch Perfect came out, i feel so cool telling people that Kendrick was a tony-award nominee broadway performer when they came out with their usual "i didn't know she can sing, she can sing ok for an actress' etc
