They're remaking Wes Craven's best movie ever. I can't wait

Last House Remake Rolling Soon

Don't believe for a second that this one crept back under a rock. No, sir.

Rogue Pictures is still moving forward on a re-telling of Wes Craven's gut-churning The Last House on the Lefthttp://www.shocktillyoudrop.com/films.php?id=4123. Dennis Iliadis jumped on board last May after having impressed Craven with his provocative film Hardcore. The Greek helmer is working from a script by Adam Alleca (more on him here).

In a recent Fangoria Radio interview with Craven, he reveals principal photography starts on the remake next month in South Africa. That means casting announcements should be just around the corner. South Africa served as the production backdrop for The Breed, another Craven production.

Wasn't this basically about some teenagers that are killed, and their killers hole up in the parent's house, who murder them? Or something like that.

It was more or less a remake of Bergman's The Virgin Spring. Lots and lots of very explicit and hard to watch rape scenes. It's hard to explain, but the way the film was shot and acted, and because the subject matter was so disturbing, you almost forget that it's a movie when you watch it. I've seen it once, and could never watch it again. It's a heck of a movie, but (to me) a watch it once one.

Which probably says a lot about just how well done it was, to be honest.

...and by that I have to say that this film shouldn't be remade. It would be extremely watered down more than likely.

Which is what I'm worried about with I Spit on your grave
