Sounds like you are still analyzing copywrite.
Sounds like you have nothing else to say on the topic because you know that my astute hypothesis sounds better than your cynical, smart ass comments. :)

Sucks monkey ass! This movie will be the biggest bomb since Ultraviolet. The writers obviously spent their time playing with their sisters Barbies and reading their mothers magazines.
:cmad:

I'm not happy with any of this. I'm preparing for the biggest cinematic disappointment of my life.

Stop your *****ing.
And think of this movie as an elseworlds type of thing ok.
Its Gi Joe, but its not Cartoon joe, or comic Joe, its movie Joe.
All three are different in thee little ways ok.
Geez some of you people act like babies. Grow up.

I don't want "elseworlds" g.i. joe, I want G.I. Joe!

Elseworlds? Jesus Horatio Chris! I guess Sigma six should be seen that way too. As well as Extreme. They sucked big balls because the weren't G.I.Joe. Even the Cobra La line failed because it wasn't really G.I.Joe. A lot of us have been looking for this movie for a long time. We don't want to see someones rendition. Keep it as true as possible. We real joe fans have supported the Joe team via book, cartoon and/or toyline for most of our lives. We are owed something better than a half assed effort. Thats not whining. Its our due.

Actually, it is whinning. Nobody owes you anything. Nobody forced you to support G.I. Joe. Besides, technically speaking, this whole 'Joe vs Cobra' bit isn't G.I. Joe either. G.I. Joe was a military-themed comic during World War II. Except, it changed over time, reinventing itself according to current popular suitability. Of course, it hasn't always been successful, but it is no less necessary. After all, if change never occurred, we'd all still be free-floating microorganisms in a pool of water somewhere.

Hahaha. The naivate of youth. We all have our opinions. True, no one forces you to do anything. But is it to much to expect some level of quality in the events and objects you look to for recreation? The companies making these products are obliged to put forth a decent effort for you, me and anyone else who willingly partakes of what they offer. Brass tax Padawan No fans, No Joe or anything else for that matter.

G.I. Joe stood for government issue or general issue and the slightly less known general infantry during WWI. This reverts back to military law which says that all military personnel, like the bunks they sleep in, the clothes they wear, and the guns they carry, are the property of the Government. What started as a common joke among soldiers that they were, in fact, Government issued military property, became the standard ready reference. They were, quite simply, issued by the government and, therefore, Government Issue. There was no WWII Comic the G.I. Joe Comic started in 1982. Global Integrated Joint Operating Entity is what it stands for in the movie.

The original GI Joe still had nothing to do with Cobra or anything this movie is about. It was just military themed 12'' action figures. The movie is an adaptation on the comics and cartoon. A lot of the rumors of what is going to happen in the movie, have happened in the comics or cartoon in some fashion. Stop acting like they're just totally going a different to piss you guys off because they really aren't. I think you guys just like to find things to ***** about. There are even people saying that Snake-Eyes looks too much like the comics. Wow. Nothing will please some of you. My advice is to go into this movie with the absolute lowest expectations your brain can comprehend. Or, just don't even see it since you think Hollywood is trying to sabotage your sacred childhood hero's.

I'm not sure about its general usage in WWI but what I do know is that there was a G.I. Joe comic strip during WWII. It was written by David Breger, who is generally credited with originating the term 'G.I. Joe'. Here's a link to the article: Link

Now you know. And knowing is half the battle ;)

I have to apologize on that. My sources were in err and I can admit when I'm wrong. You are correct. Wikipedia David Bregers' name. Movie is still going to suck donkey balls however and on that I am comletely right!

You can't do this thing exactly like the comics and cartoons, and you all know why. They have to change up some of the stuff and take a few liberties, same as they do for every movie based on a book, tv show, or earlier property. It has to be a little fantastical. If it wasn't you may as well just get the director of the Jack Ryan movies and make it a political thriller.

I read a script (draft - November 3rd, 2007) and I totally love that. I'm not a big G.I. Joe fan so I can say that this script is almost perfect, there's a lot of fun, many action scenes... My rating is A- and I really want to see that.

I am hoping that this movie totally bombs and we get a completely different version in 3-4 years, similar to what happened with 'The Hulk' and 'The Incredible Hulk.'

Meh. This sounds like it is closer to Van Helsing and X-Men: The Last Stand than to the source material and the still-pinnacle of super-team movies, X2.

Read the same script and hated it since I am a G.I Joe Fan. The action the script and just about everything else about this movie sucks.
