Legendary Pictures has a pretty decent track record with the things they’ve released, so I’m intrigued by this. Also, the fact that they’re doing film and television tells me they definitely have some plans for what they want to do with this property. It’s whomever they get to direct this is what will make or break this. Getting talent like Chad Stahelski or somebody like him who knows how to direct great action, make memorable characters and do some great world-building would definitely be a great get for something like this.

We’ll see how it goes. My interest is piqued.

Here’s hoping the project actually comes to fruition and doesn’t end up in development hell.
After TLOU and hopefully Mario blowing up the box office next week, maybe the minds of film/show execs will change a bit towards video game material and they'll start taking it a bit more seriously.

Someone from the Chad Stahelski tree would be ideal for this.

Maybe get somebody like Sam Hargrave, who is directing the Extraction sequel. He clearly has a great eye for long takes, coherent action and clear geography. That would be absolutely perfect for something like Street Fighter.

When I saw Chris Hemsworth’s arm on fire and he was still punching henchman, I actually did “Shoryuken!”

In all seriousness, I’d be down for Hargave.

I also really love The Animated Movie as well, the opening fight with Ryu and Saget was a great way to start the film, and that Hadouken! Still get chills!
They totally nailed what I wanted from an animated SF film and also managed to get most of the characters in there, even Fei long, Dee Jay and T Hawk! I’m going to have to rewatch this asap now haha.

This and any TV shows would be awesome if they took any influence from the anime.

I wonder what game they would adapt first? Maybe SF with Ryu and Ken before going to the World Warrior.
