Legion ---> Parralax ----> Krona

Can someone explain what's going on?
In the script it was a yellow squid named Legion (Originally Giant Yellow Armor)
Then some concept art showed it was actually The Adorable Insectoid Parralax
Now it's Krona? I'm guessing Guardian corrupted by the Yellow Light?

That’s cause the original script was based on the first retteling of Hal's Origin Emerald Dawn , a pre-Parallx story, before Geoff Johns came on board or wrote Secret Origins.


In Emerald Dawn Legion is revealed to be more an amorphous tentacled creature once it grafts itself onto Oa and the Central Battery.
After Legion tears through an army of Lanterns and kills a couple of Guardians, a rookie Hal must recognize and overcome his own fear (yes this is years before Kyle Rayner or Geoff Johns) and enter the Battery where he takes on the Oa'n power and separates it from Legion.

Then some concept art showed it was actually The Adorable Insectoid Parralax

That’s concept art of the entity itself, whether he appears as such in the movie remains to be seen, what we are seeing (the more “human” faced creature) is probably Krona possessed by Parallax, see the image of the Guardian in the other post- http://forums.superherohype.com/showpost.php?p=20038239&postcount=8

Yes.
In the comics Geoff Johns has retroactively been working Krona into the history of the Entities(i.e. Parallax and the others), Or rather the Entities into the history of Krona.
And as we know Johns has since heavily influenced the original movie script. (I haven’t read any script, I’m just guessing.)
In the movie all traces of what was once Legion; have been replaced by a Parallax possesed Krona.

The final look appears to be a hybrid of the Parallax possessed Guardian in the link above, and the somewhat amorphous tentacle being Legion as seen in the Emerald Dawn images above.

When they wrote the script back in 2008 secret origins hadnt come out yet. They took legion from emerald dawn. After secret origins came out and Johns fleshed out the whole yellow business in the comics which fans responded to, and in turn created the sinestro corps and turned sinestro into an interesting character they probably just felt it best to change legion into parralax, especially if they wanted to do a sequel. Not to mention legion was more or less the parallax entity in the script so changing the name wasn't that big of a deal. As for krona, parallax is probably possessing him and thus the appearance.

i have no problem with krona but they are really over complicating everything merging so many villains

Yeah this Krona/Parallax thing drives me up the wall with all the GL reboots and different retellings.

But the fact that it's voice by Clancy Brown makes it all better.

Ya, to me this is kindof like the galactus or whatever from FF4 2, having him being this giant cloud of destruction rather than the comic version. I think ppl would buy theses versions than the original.

Well acording to the Green Lantern Behind the Scenes book, Parallax was inspired by the foot of 9/11 were people were running away from the smoke clouds created by the collapsing Trade Center. It kinda makes sense.
