Good god, this episode was freaking incredible! My jaw was in the floor throughout. Xavier chair! Aubrey was amazing and various sequences in this were sublime. Great show!

^Yeah, he's really grown on me.

That episode was the trippiest, craziest thing I think I've ever seen, and I loved it! This show has really hit its stride, just in time for the finale.

As for the Hawley debate, I'd rather keep him on Legion and Fargo. TV is better than movies these days anyway.

Favorite episode. So much comic stuff. The wheelchair. Name dropping Shadow King and Farouk. Aubrey even wearing a classic Shadow King oversized suit.

But his sister mentioned email. I'm confused about the time period again. :(

It's probably closer to present day, depending on if we're to believe Ptonomy's past. He mentions a song from 1983 when he talks about his mother last week.

I had to watch that whole sequence three times over. This show is on another level. Probably the best live action superhero show I've ever seen. Noah Hawley is a genius.

This show has really thrown me for a loop being as good as it is, trampled my expectations by capturing that funky surrealist vibe those 80's-early 90's comics had. This episode, bravo. I still think the biggest twist at the end is that [BLACKOUT]the group is the Hellfire Club. Not the X-men, because they fight the X-men. We will probably see a tv version of the X-men next season.[/BLACKOUT]

Dennie Gordon directed this episode, she directed Joe Dirt. :woot:

    this ep is perfect :hrt:

helps a lot that they lay it all out on the blackboard for viewers to understand this simply. one less ep that viewers will find confusing :funny:

The way she moved (and David too) like they were mannequins is closer to the way Bill Sienkewicz drew Legion than I could ever have imagined.

Had a friend of a friend ask me why I think the chalkboard dad is Professor X. Had him freezeframe the fingers to the head part.

I really worry for society when even pictures need explained.

Anyone fully understand how David was able to stop the bullets?

    Let me get this straight:
    a) Shadowking sees "the eye" jump into the room somehow stopping time by teleporting everyone's subconscious into a simulated hospital on the astral plane? Fictional explanation for why time stands still must be changed to higher dimension therefore escape time/space of lower dimension? Still bit fuzzy on this but something like that...

    b) Friends look for Dave with glasses on. Upon finding him, he becomes aware where he physically is.

    c) Oliver creates "shield" which is actually a time displacement between bullets and their target?

    d) Displacement hat put on David and he now can see where is; shield allows him time to react allowing him turn around then use abilities to catch bullets then?

Very confusing. Anyone else make sense of that?

Also, what was with that guy the eye took out waking up and grabbing lenny. What did that do?

Edit: Also what's with Oliver suddenly able to walk around physically when his body (no idea how they kept body alive? presume mutant abilities allowed be so but still...) was frozen for so many years. Let alone sipping a margarita and eating like would any other day. This episode really could make the least amount of sense out of for me at least.

I thought elements of this episode were really good and original top notch.

That being said, it wasn't my favorite episode because I could make the least amount of sense out of it vs. any of the others. So far not having seen the season finale yet I'd have to give the pilot episode as being the best so far. Overall, I think besides the pilot episode 5 stands on it's own the best. If 2 to 4 and 6+7 mostly were to be considered a single episode each, I still think hands down the pilot is the best so far overall and don't think it'll change based on the preview I've seen of the finale.
